finally somebody from media nakabantay na ani,
Why do maids have to wear uniforms?
even before the article was written, I myself find it a little weird and degrading if mayordomas and rich pinoys let their maid wear uniform in public, for me its a kind of discrimination against maids. I saw rich celebrities like Sharon CUneta or the Aquinos doing this.
dont get me wrong, back in my younger years (in my hometown) we have a lot of helpers, but we dont call them maids as what my parents taught us, they are 'helpers' or kasambahay, katabang sa mga buhatonon and not slaves.
Letting maids wore uniform is the rich pinoy version of segragation and discrimination against those much 'lower' than them.
maybe its the right time that more pinoy must be aware of these kind of human degradation by our own race.
just sharing...
