Default How to use a laptop all day?

How to use a laptop all day without wasting battery charging cycle?

    I can only think either:

    1. Take out the battery and plug the charger the whole time using a UPS.

    or.

    2. Find in Windows and BIOS settings or use a software that will disable the battery from charging.

I failed #2 already, and reluctant to apply #1 . What would you do in this case?

Why do this when you can leave the charger on the whole time? Here's what Marcymaru wrote:

Even though it is true the battery would stop charging when its 100%, it is also true that the battery will still constantly charge and discharge, causing it to deteriorate faster.
Let's say that your battery is 100% charged and your laptop is on. The battery won't charge anymore.
But let's suppose that you turn your laptop off, unplug it, you go to sleep, and you plug it and turn it on again after 15 hours.
Well in that time, even if just slightly, the better will lose that 0,5% of charge, and when you turn it on again, that will be recharged, basically "wasting" one cycle of charge.

Or enjoy your laptop without tinkering it. You'll likely to end up selling it for a newer model or buy fresh batteries anyway

Today's battery technology is so much different 5 years ago. Do you honestly believe this didn't cross in the minds of the manufacturers?

    1. Take out the battery and plug the charger the whole time using a UPS.

the laptop will be faster if you set it to performance mode

This morning, I run some problem with my first option of taking out the battery with UPS when I called APC service center and told me the battery of my 10 year old 650VA APC is 2k. I thought it was around 500 or 700 only. I might just buy a brand new 500VA UPS, which is around 2500, or buy fresh laptop battery This whole idea is crazy.

how about cooling? importante ba jud ang laptop cooler especially if all day ka maggamit sa imu laptop? and whats the price range nga effective na ang laptop cooler?

You don't really need a laptop cooler. My sister have his son playing her HP laptop from 7am to midnight this freaking hot summer with just a small 18watt electric fan facing down on the laptop. The battery can't hold power anymore though. I wanted to do that to my laptop when I go take a vacation later in the province, but I don't want to ruin the battery, it's why I made this post.

buying a fresh laptop battery would cost you more or less the same sa mapalit kag new ups. kadiyot ra pud gamit nimo then mag charge na pud ka or magsige ungot sa outlet with the battery on, same thing would happen. you're feared batttery cycle kay mas moubos which bring us back to the earlier suggestion. tangtanga ang battery then itaud sa outlet if you plan on using it all day long.

Laptop cooler? asa man ka mas maka save og mas maka ventilate og maayo? pila ka watts ang laptop cooler? naay mga laptop cooler that consumes less than 18watts and laptop coolers are designed nga sa ilawm sa laptop ibutang kay daghan init nga anha agi sa ilawm og kilid or luyo sa laptop kaysa sa ibabaw niya.

effective lang jud ang laptop cooler kung muinit ang ilalom sa imong laptop. uban man gud kay dili kaayo muinit ang ilalom, kung muinit man, didto ra dapit sa naay vent, and useless kung sa center ang fan sa cooler, dili japon maigo ang init. better choose a laptop cooler with moveable fans.

Out of the question but If you will be using a laptop the whole day and not really like bringing it elsewhere then why not buy a desktop instead? Also, I know that laptops are better choice if gamay ra sad space imo lugar. pero yes, take out the battery and put in the charger.

Also, tips in preserving the charger. Di na na tinoud na you must drain your battery all the way down then charge.. Actually, it's mroe better and to charge the battery if battery drains on like 50 percent below capacity...
