Default Easy way to detect a bottleneck?

Is there any way to detect a bottleneck? I mean a software that shows HDD, RAM, CPU, PCIE Lanes, GPU status that indicates a bottleneck? It seems tiring to Overclock and Underclock components to find the piece of hardware that's slowing down FPS or process times..

    Naa nkahibaw unxaon??

    ^ bro LK,

for the CPU, you can check it though "Windows Task Manager" on the CPU usage... for the other components, no idea ko kay mao ra ni akaong tan-awon pud... except sa GPU... ad2 ra ko mag tan-aw sa actual game GFX setting... then check nko ang FPS nya using FRAPS...

for the HDD, Ram and PCIe lanes, dili ko keen ani nila... dili man ta man siguro ta maka bantay kun mo slow down ni sila... except sa pag boot, shutdown or padagan ug apps ang games kun mag use tag HDD and during disk bench marking. personally, satisfied ra ko's performance sa mga 7,200 rpm HDDs as boot and apps drive but not on those slower ones (5,400 ~ 5,700 rpm)... kani na mga HDD, good ra ni sila for storage... but even on storage, hinay kaayo ni sila'g performance sa actual transfer rate... i can comment on these since I have 2 FreeNAS servers that utilize both 7,200 and 5,400 rpm drives... both are using intel Gigabit NIC...

sa PCIe lanes siguro, makita nato ang bottle neck during FPS bench marking... but only when we use those flagship dual GPUs (SLI or Crossfirex) on multiple GPU configurations... like Quad SLI and Quad Crossfirex and more (if the other chipset based mobo will support it... other than the LGA 2011 platform)... maong, kun mag Quad GPUs, mas better na mag LGA 2011 platform kay dako/daghan ni siya's support PCIe lanes on burst speed (16x speed)...

for the ram, 1600 MHz and above, sa current HW, mura'g gamay ra kaayo sila performance difference except gamit ta'g APU... gahanan man ni sya'g faster speed ram modules for its iGPU... again, makita ra nato ang difference even on the slower 1333 Mhz ram mdules and above sa bench marking like AIDA64...

mao man ang lisod gud kay in real world performance almost negligible man gud ang speed differences..If only naa way to ask your PC kung unxa ang nka.langay sa iya.. pero murag wala man..

follow up question nlang.. in games, I tried the difference between OC CPU ang OC GPU.. mas affect ang OC GPU.. but in imaginary settings, imagine 4x780ti do you get tremendous amount of FPS? or is it capped by the games programming.. though familiar ko nga 1+1 may not be equal to 2 in terms of performance, but by then where is the bottleneck? why cant it get 1+1 = 2 nga FPS...

it is on the drivers and games themselves bro... as well as the CPU it self... even the fastest gaming CPU today can not unleash the full power of a multi-GPU configuration... naa pa gyud limitation ang driver itself... siguro, atoang ma maximize ang benefits sa multiple flagship GPU configuration on multi-monitors @ 4K resolution (wla pa man ang 5K monitors)...

in terms of OC, mas effective ang pag OC sa GPU kay mas taas ni sila'g fps na ma puga pa gyud... pero, kun mag OC ta'g GPU, ma stretch pa gyud ang fps na mapagawas... depende ra gyud sa game pud... kun Crysis 3 or Metro Lst Ligth on line gaming at max players, aw, OC'ing both GPU and CPU would provide the best fps ang gaming experience gyud...

basta, sa akoang nakita, ang main bottleneck... granting the "best ang HW configuration" kay ang GPU driver itself as well as the game coding...

kanang GPU drivers bro, dako kaayo nang tabang sa pag boost sa fps during game play... in other words, sa pag optimize sa GPUs on certain games... mao ni ang main reason why mag sige nag update ang Nvidia & AMD sa GPU drivers nila...

sa windows 8 makit.an na ang load sa HDD. you can monitor it anytime. akong 7200rpm nga hdd mubottleneck ra during mag install ko ug games or any software nga dinagko, copying files, or during converting more than 1 video at a time.

sakto jud nga mas mueffect kung i-oc ang gpu kaysa sa cpu. on gaming usually ang load sa cpu kay mu-hover ra around 20% whereas ang gpu usually 99% jud. i used msi afterburner to monitor these.

as far as I know, in terms of games, almost never m.bottleneck ang HDD aneh. unless katong super slow 5400rpms ang imo gnagamit.. come to think of it, currently in one of my builds Im using a 5400 drive that's been with me for almost 9 years already so it's old and only 80gb.. ang loading sa games and ang booting up is super slow.. pero in game, there seems o be no different in FPS compared to using an SSD.. pero ang loading mas dugay gyud...
