Default Happy with plastic Galaxy S5

I just got my white Galaxy S5 G900 a few hours earlier. So far, over all, this is an amazing phone especially the incredible screen with moderately saturated colors. It comes smaller than I thought, having unexpected great ergonomics in my hand. Actually I am grateful that Samsung sticks to plastic cases because it cut weight and giving an option to replace a battery. Now I consider a new battery as backup.

Gratz. Ok man gyud ang S5. Pero personally di ko ka justify sa price (more expensive) when there are better (in my opinion) products with better build quality than the S5. M8, Z2 have leaps and bounds better build quality but a tad cheaper than the S5.

build quality? i think what you really meant is the aesthetics. have you actually held an M8 and Z2 in your hand or are you just referring to those fanboy reviews that you've read from other threads.

there's a difference between build quality and aesthetics. the Samsung phones are solidly built despite looking cheap. i haven't seen M8 and Z2 yet in Cebu so I only have their predecessors to compare. the HTC One (original) looked great but had some noticeable gaps and irregularities for a supposedly "premium" unibody design that also gets easily scratched. Z/Z1 looks sleek but slippery and rather sharp at the edges to hold with your hand. what good is aesthetics if you end up covering your phone with some casing. also mas dako og points sa ako kung ang phone gaan og nipis. the HTC and Sony flagships are rather thick and heavy compared to Samsung.

M8 and Z2 have not yet been priced here in the Philippines (in the actual retail market not the grey ones) so I'm not so sure about the claims that they are cheaper.

i remember the original HTC One being more expensive than S4.

there are also some other factors to consider like having a removable battery despite being a dust/water resistant design. in my opinion that's a significant plus factor for me for my investment. especially when historically speaking, ang battery maoy pinaka-una modegrade sa cellphone. unsaon man ko nang pachoi-choi nga phone kung dali ra mahutdan og battery after one year of heavy usage.

i value practicality over looks so to me the price of that Samsung phone may just be worth it. if you're the type who is more into the looks of your phone (or typically change phones every year) then you would think that the prices of HTC/Sony phones are justifiable. so depende ra gyud na sa kung asa mas dako og value para sa taw para maka-ingon siya nga sakto para sa iya ang presyo.

2 - 3 mos from now if the rumored S5 Prime or whatever they will call it is true then moubos napud cguro ang presyo ani (murag pabor jud nga matinuod knowing Samaung's History of releasing so many variants sa ilang flagship)

Today, In my own opinion, this phone is priced way above the ceiling ra jud.
