    Default Celeron J1800 & J1900 (Intel Bay Trail-D)

    peeps,

nalimot ko'g post ani diri... wla man pu'y nag post dba? last month ni gi release sa market but don't know if naa naba ni dha sa atoa. this is nice for a low power HTPC... it is a very capable little gem... nice pud ni for a low power media/file server...

AnandTech | 10W Bay Trail-D Coming To Market from GIGABYTE and Biostar

diri nako, mao ni ang prices nila... for benchmark purposes...

    > Gigabyte J1800N-D2H: 599 rmb (4.4K php)
    > Gigabyte J1900N-D3V: 749 rmb (5.5K php)
    > Biostar J1800NH: 530 rmb (3.9K php)

hhhmmm... i might consider one of these mobo/cpu combo for a HTPC upgrade... mas nice man ni'g iGPU compared sa Atom D2500HN...

I wonder how this one will fare against kabini.

^ mas ubos ni'g wattage ang offering sa intel compared sa Kabini but, inferior ang iGPU sa intel (as always as of today)... CPU processing wise, need pa ta'g comparison ani nila... duda ko, sa CPU raw power, smoked napud siguro ning Bay Trail-D... mas kusog ang Kabini...

hinoon, kani sila duha, dili man ni intended for gaming or power crunching application... nice ni sila for a HTPC... ang offering sa intel, more than enough ra ni sya for HTPC (media center)... ang sa AMD, mas nice ug iGPU... puro na sila maka play ug HD content man pud... kilawon ra siguro ani nila ang XMBC...

nice pud atangan nang Kabini for HTPC application. hope na SODIMM and mem modules sa platform nya para dili nko maka palit ug lain mem modules... my HTPC upgrade can wait...

if std DIMM ang gamit nya, aw, no choice but to jump into the Bay Trail-D bandwagon...

Unsay form factor ani nila? Naa kahay nano itx ani with pcie and msata while using only pico psu power? Or dc-dc 19v powerbrick? Wishful thinking lang..

^ so far, kanang gipost nko bro, mga mini-ITX na sila... for sure, naa'y coming na mga nano-ITX sa intel as what they offer from their previous line...

example, from Taobao... kani sya, naka intel Celeron C1037U (Ivy Bridge)... w/ mSATA... priced at 650 rmb excluding shipment to anywhere here in Mainland China... roughly, 4.8K php... but, wala ni PCIe slot ug 24 pin power connector for the Pico PSU...

mga nano-ITX mobo link sa Taobao...

^ sa gi disclosed sa AMD bro, 25W tanan Kabini APUs... either sa Athlon ug sa Sempron lines... but, nice gyud na mahibaw-an ang actual power consumption sa system from the mains gamit ang Kill-a-watt meter...

AMD Athlon 5150 and Athlon 5350 AM1 Socketed Kabini APUs Start Selling in US - Official Launch on 9th April

AnandTech Portal | AMD AM1 Platform Announced: Socketed Kabini

difference noted by AnandTech... base spec sa Kabini APUs, mas power ni sila compared sa intel's offering on the iGPU side... no idea on the processing side... wla pa man performance comparison na gipa gawas...

    > Kabini APUs are all single channel memory, compared to BayTrail / Silvermont CPUs that are dual channel.
    > Kabini APUs are 25W, whereas Silvermont CPUs are 10-15W on average.
    > Finding a non 64-bit BayTrail system is hard – I only found reference to BayTrail-T CPUs that might be 32-bit only, and these systems are not directly competing with Kabini APUs and the AM1 platform.

aw tuod ba bummer wa ghapon diay dual channel support. Another advantage pud sa Kabini is socketed ang processor not soldered. So maybe you can get a dual core kabini for now and when processing demands increases upgrade to a quad core kabini.

^ korek gyud... pwede ra maka upgrade ang owner... just like a normal desktop... this Kabini thingy is really intended for low power & budget desktop system...
