iPhone 5 USB Cable Problem

Just wanted to check if anyone is experiencing the same issue as I am.

I have an iPhone 5 and an iPod Nano 5th gen. I use my iPhone USB cable connecting to iTunes on both my iPhone and iPod. Recently, both my PC and Mac Book Pro cannot detect my iPhone and iPod anymore. This started happening about 3 weeks ago. However, the same USB cable can still charge both iPhone and iPod when plugging it into a wall socket. I tried using my iPod’s USB cable to connect to my PC and Mac Book Pro and there were no issues.

Is this an issue with my iPhone’s USB cable? I’ve had my iPhone since December 2012. What is usually the life span for the iPhone’s USB cable?

better try changing the USB cord of you iphone..

i haven't experience this kind of problem, maybe you tie you USB cable the wrong way and damage its connections..
i have my iphone USB cord for 4years and still no problems..

i just wrap my cord in a circular motion, (like a rope pilling)

Buy a new original usb cable to avoid problems. There is no life span for usb cable.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm starting to believe it's really the USB cable. Was just wondering why there's no problem in using it to charge my phone and ipod but cannot detect/charge when plugged in to my PC and macbook. Will just use the ipod's USB cable for the mean time
