try to see if you are running a lot of apps. make sure to close the apps you are not using in the multitasking pane to free up valuable memory. Lots of running apps in the background can overwhelm the phone and cause it to hang... hope it helps

Sir, when was the last time you did an iPhone restore sa imung phone? I know 3GS has been around for the longest time so you might as well give it a try.

try flash the phone with fresh IOS 6.1.3
if this things dont work for you, try open the unit then clean it up..
