Question:
What is the most expensive fur you have ever bought? I see some furs that are obscenely expensive and well out of my price range that I can’t help but wonder how expensive a fur can really get.
Answer:
The question of which fur is the most expensive is a little tricky. First, the price of fur usually is determined by the quality and workmanship of each product. Another determining factor is the type of animal where the fur comes from and of course yet another factor is the originality of the fur. Usually, the more reputable the manufacturing company is the more expensive the fur is likely to be. For instance, you are more likely to buy a fur beret more cheaply if it is homemade than if you buy it from H&M. but we know homemade furs are far and in between. The type of fur product you intend to buy also determines the price. A fur cap will be way cheaper than a fur coat. A fur coat on the hand will also be far cheaper than a fur blanket. Personally, I have seen winter furs that are sold for as much as $450,000. I even hear
Russian winter furs are considered very high quality; they are considered the most expensive. Again, you need to consider the type of animal the furs come from. The most expensive furs have been known to come from Sable, Mink, Raccoon and Fox. Some Russian fur hats are made from Sable and that is why they are so expensive. On the flip side, some Russian furs like those sold by arctic-store are considerably cheap considering they have really good quality with minimal margin and a 100% feedback. Canadian furs can also be expensive but nothing beats Russian furs in my opinion.
