Twister destroys 34 houses in Negros

MANILA -- A total of 34 houses were damaged when a twister hit Brgy. Bantayan in Kabankalan City in Negros Occidental on Tuesday.


Residents said that they felt the ground shook as the twister damaged houses in their barangay. Some houses were damaged because of fallen trees.


The barangay chairman of Brgy. Bantayan was not spared from the calamity. The roof of his house was removed due to the strong wind.


The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) conducted a survey in the affected barangay.


The city will be providing victims with financial assistance to rebuild their houses. -- with reports from Marty Go, ABS-CBN News Bacolod
