- practice daily, use all your fingers incldg your pinkie
- warm up everytime you practice
- use metronome to increase your speed

- remove as much as possible any tensions in your body, arms, shoulders & fingers.
- fall in love with your guitar

since you are into metal, power chords are just I & V of that particular chord.
practice palm muting.
practice the scales ascending and descending.
if you get bored, play along with your favorite metal band.
