greetings everyone. i've noticed lately that more and more "oldschool" cars are coming into the open here in cebu. its a very nice sight to see these older model cars running in the road nowadays and so we thought that it would be good to set up a car club for "oldschool" car enthusiasts in order to continue to preserve our cars; share thoughts, knowledge, ideas; and most of all: friendship and camaraderie. the group would be centered on the cars being the enthusiast's interest. with this in mind, we would also have to set some guidelines with regards to the word "oldschool". the group would be exclusive for cars produced before 1989 since this was the era when cars were still rear wheel drive before the introduction of the front wheel drive cars. there is no specific brand or manufacturer, so it may be japanese, american, british, german, other european brands for as long as it was manufactured before 1989. you dont need to have a super nice and restored car...basta the older the better, the more flaws and problems it has, the better so that the group can help out with different ways to solve such problems to preserve and restore the car.
as of the moment, we have 6 individuals who are sure of joining the group and we would want to see how many more cebuanos are interested in joining the group. there is strictly no money involved as per mkembership basis. it would be good have more numbers join the group. it wouldnt matter if you're a 17 year old teenager with your first new "old" car or if you're a married family man with children and grandchildren. the point of organazing such a group is for the pure betterment of our old cars and as an outelt for good, clean, family-oriented fun and hobby.
the tentative name of the group would be "OLDSCHOOL CEBU AUTO CLUB" or just plain "oldschool cebu" for short. we, together with the other pioneer members will be spearheading this aspiration of ours. we will be distributing flyers to those with old cars and in fact, we are planning to this by foot in the different parking lots of cebu or weherever we see and old car and we're going to leave a flyer on the windshield in order to invite them to join the group.
we will be setting up a grand eb which will be anounced later when we have a clearer picture of things for the group's intent. at the same time, we are planning to use that same grand eb as a means to induct officers and leaders of the group which would be democratically voted upon and decided by the fellow group members.
lastly, we will be meeting every staurday nights at the asiatown it park near the skyrise building 10 pm or 11pm onwards. everyone and anyone is welcome to dropby. there is absolutely no commitment as to how long you would want to go with the group but we have request that interested future members would at least act in a proper manner. no jokes, no bad vices, no drugs, etc... basta tinarong ni among pang organize sa grupo.
