Peeps,
please allow me to start a discussion thread on some rare PC components here in istorya... kanang wala kaayo ma post ba... para ni sa pang puno sa kaban of knowledge sa atoang mga kakusa diri sa istorya... i'll start the ball rolling ha... again, please allow me...
here's mine... it's a BFG Ageia PPU (PhysX Processing Unit)... this is the "Father" of Nvidia PhysX...
Specs:
> Onboard 128MB DDR3 VRAM
> PCI form factor (32 bit PCI interface)... single slot
> 4 pin molex power connector for the required juice
Reason during the purchase last Oct 2007:
> For the PhysX "eye candy" in playing Unreal Tournament 3 (UT3)... on the PhysX enabled maps
> paired w/ 2 x HD 4870 X2 GPUs on Crossfirex... equivalent to a Quadfirex configuration... w/ a Core 2 Quad CPU (Q9550)
> last use was on the MoDT rig (Pentium M 770)... paired it w/ ATI's HD 3650... my BFG Ageia PPU is still functional... wala na lang gi support-tahan sa Nvidia ang driver para ani nya... old drivers lang... and on Win XP...
Note:
> The Ageia PPU is the card on top... bottom is a BFG Nvidia Geforce 6600 GT OC Edition w/ 128MB DDR3 VRAM (AGP 8x)... the 6600 GT is not rare in Cebu (naa man baligya sauna) but, BFG brand is... dili common brand sa Cebu ni sya...
