I'm planning to buy a new processor.....den naglibog ko kng mas paspas ba ang Intel pentium D 935 na 3.2Ghz or Intel E2140 which is 1.6G
and unsay diff sa pentium D ug Intel na E gasugod? hehe pls help

go for Intel E also known as Core 2 Duo if your board can support it because it is more efficient in power savings ang lower in temps. unlike the old models (Pentium D) which eats a lot of power and has a higher temps but delivers less than what is expected.

sure na c spookey bro. you can only compare two processors with its clockspeed only if it is of the same architecture. example a pentium 4 with 3.2 ghz is naturally faster than a pentium 4 with 2.6 ghz. but when you compare pentium 4 with processors of different architecture, dili na nimo ma compare sa clock speed lang.

core 2 duo e6300 has 1.8ghz but it kicks the butt big time of the pentium4 3.5ghz

Pentiums including Pentium D micro-architecture is based on Netburst™. ang gigamit nila para improve sa performance, kay ang clock speed interms of GHZ.

C2D's micro-architecture is based on the newer Core™ micro-architecture which brings 40% more performance and uses 40% less power than the older Netburst™.

if you compare the two at the same speed, biyaan kaayo ang pentium D sa core2 by a mile. pero about sa imong question, kung asay mas paspas sa E2140 ug pentium D 3.2ghz, mas paspas gamay ang pentium D at 3.2ghz (see benchmarks below ).

ang pinaka-advantage sa core2 aside sa gi-mentioned ni spookey... kay taas kaay siya ug headroom for overclocking. and kung imo ning i-overclock, you will obtain very significant gains compared sa Pentium D and the AMD processors. your E2140, can easily get to 3.0ghz provided nga nindot ang imong mobo ug ram nga gigamit. pero kung dili ka mag overclock, then pareparehas ra na sila kapaspasa... and also compared to their AMD counterparts.

@patricktan, overclocking is increasing the default clockspeed of your processor. example, if you have a core2duo e6300 which has a stock speed of 1.8ghz, with a good motherboard, some can increase its clockspeed to 2.8ghz. kaning mga core2duo tag-as daw ni sila capacity in overclocking.. but you need to research more before you do it becoz it voids your warranty and there are some risks involved. try lang read didto overclocking post.
