Default Hoteliers Lounge - Ideas, Inquiries and More.

Hi Everyone, I wanted to start this thread since Hospitality industry is fast growing. Presumably, there are a lot out there, especially the young ones, who are curious about how things work in this industry. Hopefully this thread would be able to help, improve or increase our knowledge in this wide field of profession.

Please feel free to share your experiences if you are in this industry, if you are not, please feel free as well to inquire and I will as much as possible share my knowledge in the field. Do take note that discussions here are only used to improve your knowledge or be able to provide aha moments. So humbly I ask you to refrain from making unnecessary comments if an opinion will not fit what you think. Make sure you will be polite enough to comment/ correct a wrong information.

Moving on, I would like to inform everyone that I am not a professional blogger. So bear with my writing skills and terms, hopefully should this thread continue to flourish over time, I may also be able to improve it.

Lastly, I would like to make it clear that I do not offer any job vacancy. Please refer it to classifieds thread for it.

Thank you and I hope to hear from you fellow hoteliers. Together let us learn more.

This is a great thread if the aim is "to learn more". Unlike that previous thread before that's more on somebody's logbook... (no offense sis ). I like to learn more on this "hotelier" topic.
    Sige Boss, sugdi na dayon....

By the way Boss #blue_grass , pwede ta magbinisiya ani nga thread or must be in English jud?

Rule of Thumb - Always keep an eye contact to your clients and be sincere. Try to see guest cravings and interest, try to work on that. Mirroring is the key to success, e.g. if the guest speaks in english, answer in english. If in bisaya do the same, if you find it difficult try to explain that you will just communicate in english since you are not good with speaking bisaya though you understand. Make sure you are not standing while talking to a guest that is sitting down or vice versa.

Majority of the hotels nowadays collect identifications from guest coming in past 10PM. These guest are called joiners of course not all of them are what we think they are. Some hotels collect joiners fee and others don't if their rates cover single and double occupancy.

Guest floor corridor cleaning, Hotel guest room Minibar / Mini Fridge Cleaning. Floor corridor has to be cleaned based on low guest traffic and low hotel occupancy level. In most cases thorough cleaning in these areas are done during graveyard shift. It is best also to look into vehicle landings since these are the first impressions of guest arriving the hotel.
