President Benigno Aquino III on Wednesday announced that the government is offering a P10-million reward for any information that will lead to the arrest of fugitive Janet Lim-Napoles.



"A-announce namin sana a little later pero dahil natanong na, announce ko na sa inyo, P10 million ang reward for information leading to the arrest of Napoles," Aquino told reporters at the 8th East Asia Conference on Competition Law and Policy at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza.



Earlier, a Makati court ordered the arrest of Napoles and her brother, Reynald Lim, over a serious illegal detention case involving whistleblower Benhur Luy, who implicated the siblings in an alleged P10-billion pork barrel scam that funneled government money into fake NGOs.

Janet Napoles needs to answer the charges leveled against her. But one has to remember that the issue is concerning the pork barrel scam. Janet Napoles is not a congresswoman nor senator nor is she entitled to a pork barrel. You have to wonder how she got a piece of that pie. In the scheme of things, she may well have benefited a lot from the cunning misappropriation of funds. However, using an ecosystem for analogy, Janet Napoles is just the second-order consumer in this food chain. The bigger fishes that have to answer for this are the congressmen and Senators who will be implicated in this mess.
