Hi guys. I've been running a phenom II 965 BE @ stock while my gpu is a Sapphire 7790. What I noticed nowdays is muungot akong pc while playing metro and even van helsing. My last gpu fried which was a 6790 so I just bought the gpu recently but ang ako nabantayan is ang idle temps sa ako cpu is around 60 degrees. I've cleaned the stock cooler and reapplied thermal paste pero mu stutter gyud xa. I'm currently half hearted on buying a new cooler or just go straight ahead and buy an i3 proc with a z77 board? Dli kaya sa budget ang i5 its too expensive. By buying the i3 will I do a degrade? Thanks for the replies in advance.

I don't know sa METRO murag bug-at jud na, pero Adventures of Van Helsing with Phenom quad core + 7790 mo ungot2x? Dili kaha disk access problem sa imo PC?

Pila ang temps after your reapplied tim? 60c is not normal for a 965 BE. Change the stock cooler to something better. I had that procie before and way pulos ang stock hsf. Ga idle akoang procie around 70c. Change nako to Deepcool Iceblade Pro and the temps went down to 39c. My advise is you change the cooler to at least a Deepcool Gammax 300. You can still breath in some life sa imo procie. You can overclock it to 3.7ghz at most on stock voltage.

at most games nowadays, the i3 is more powerful with higher frame rates than ur PII 965BE

and it can be said with truth of ur hd7790. that's fairly powerful VC..

anyways..u should have at least 8GB RAM..


why? if u r using win7, the os will allocate use cpu ram to ur vc for faster throughput.

PII 965 is around 10% slower than the 980.

Games nowadays love more cores. Main reason why the PII 965 BE was resurrected at Tom's Hardware as Best CPU for $100.

At this point, i would have to agree that the PII X4 has more life left on them than any 2core i3. Situation was largely different 2 years ago with the games back then.

-sipa pa man diay na imo specs. probably hdd problems jud na sya. verify with SMART status. replace if problematic.
-heat problems is related to cooling. recheck HSF basin luag. check rpm basin tikoy na ang fan. orig fans ni?

-i would hold the upgrade, until probably u can afford i5 setup in one-go. or if u dont mind, sell your old parts and upgrade.
