Default OC'd memory to get dual channel

Ngutana lang ko mga OC'ng masters. Noob paman gud ko ani and im not really getting in OC's stuff. But i usually read how to do it. the stick i bought mga 3 months old na guro, pero karon pako ni post about ani.

i OC'd my memory to get into dual channel

    512 PQI's:

old stick PQI chip: 2.5-4-4-8 2T
new stick Samsung chip: 3-4-4-8 2T

since dili man siya pareha dili cya ka detect ug dual and dili @200mhz

mao nang ako gi OC' ang duha. into 2.5-3-3-8 2T. then tested like 12 hours in memtest and so far okay until to this day.

ako noob question is okay raba na? naa moy ka advice or violent reactions? mao rana. didn't even touch those multipliers for the cpu and timing ra jud sa memory. no heatspreaders and cpu fan is in stock. it seems ni saka ako temps. sometimes i notice the system is hotter than the cpu. before i could start/idle from 29-35c now i start/idled on 38-41c is it me or maybe because its summer.

AFAIK, to dual channel must have 2 identical sticks(same brand, specs,...).

2 PQI's or 1 old PQI and new Samsung?

...and you don't need to OC to dual channel...

^^you dont need to have 2 "identical sticks" to run dual channel....as long as both ram sticks have the same frequencies, timings and density(memory capacity) then they can run in dual channel mode...

@Abaddon: thats why naka run ka sa imo mem in dual channel coz pareho naman cla timings...and i do beleive they operate at the same frequency, am i right?

running 2 unidentical ram modules in dual channel mode is a case to case basis....what i mean is it's not always 100% that it is successful(hardware incompatibility coz it came from different manufacturers)....usahay modagan...usahay sad dili. but the ideal should be both ram should be identical. 2 unidentical ram modules.....as long as the system is stable and runs on the frequency u xpected it to be...then ur lucky.

topic starter mas maau cguro imo specify f ur mobo supports dual channel..

but i guess ur mobo supports it since ur already using athlon 64..correct me if im wrong.

yep support ang mobo ug dual channel: MSI K8N NEO4-F

mao lagi ako gi OC kay arun mo pareha ila timing. kay kung dili pareha mo downgrade man iya MHz, i mean dili siya DDR400, i think DDR 333 yata... and single channel lang ang detect.

no offense just an info: i think you're not doing an overclocking...but rather memory tweaking. coz when we talk of memory overclocking we are referring to running a memory module higher than its default speed. let's say PC400 run at 440MHz effective speed. in your case memory timings ra imo imong gihilabtan and not with memory voltage to increase memory frequency.

bro, try 2-2-2-6 timing if it's stable.....

woow... that's very tight. but if you can make it work then your very lucky. how i wish i could reach those timings...
