Default Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

At the end of Warner Bros.’ massive panel, Zack Snyder was introduced onstage in a surprise appearance. Snyder took the lectern from moderator Chris Hardwick, “because some shit’s gonna happen up here,” he said. He thanked the audience for supporting Man of Steel, and then said he knows there’s a lot of speculation about the sequel. Snyder continued:

"It’s official that we are gonna make another Superman movie… The truth is you don’t want me to tell you what the movie’s about, but I can say that maybe there’s a single element that will be in the film that I could help you out with…"
Snyder then introduced Man of Steel actor Harry Lennix to the stage to read something, saying, “We’re not adapting this thing, but it is the thing that will help tell this story.” He proceeded to read a passage from the Frank Miller comic The Dark Knight Returns.

    Lennix read:

"I want you to remember, Clark, in all the years to come, in all your most private moments. I want you to remember my hand at your throat. I want you to remember the one man who beat you."
World’s Finest is officially on. The room went dark, the Superman logo came up on the screen, and then a big black Batman logo appeared behind the S. The crowd went absolutely nuts, and when the lights came up, Hardwick exclaimed, “What the shit was that?!”

Given that that post is basically a poll question, I think it's okay if I have a separate post for this particular news. No one really knows that you have posted such news on that particular thread. But thanks for the heads-up.

Having followed all upcoming movies for quite some time now, I havent actually heard this kind of buzz before. I mean, there were speculations and requests from fans to do this kind of film, but it's not until the recent Comic-Con that this idea became a solid reality.

Christopher Nolan will not be directing this sequel, for he also needs to look after his next project, Interstellar. Instead, he will be executive producing this movie with Zack Snyder back at the helm. Nolan fully trusted Snyder and that, for me, is enough to make me excited for DC's next explosive superhero movie.

I have a bad feeling this movie is going to be sh--.

the title is going to be Batman vs. Superman. it's a MoS sequel, but Batman's name comes first? lol ffs.

and if that's not already a cause for worry, they're going to use the Dark Knight Returns as reference material, even had the General from MoS quoting a line from that comic book during the presentation of Batman vs. Superman. this just means that Batman and Superman are going to fight, and Batman is going to own his butt in the most contrived manner.

instead of making a great movie about two heroes teaming up, they're going to make a bad movie about two heroes trying to beat each other up instead. but this comes as no surprise I suppose. the derpsh--s behind Man of Steel are the ones running the show at Warner now as far as DC movies are concerned. Snyder and Goyer lol. I'm somehow glad Goyer finds a WW hard to do, because then he won't be able to ruin her. I feel sorry for Flash though, who is rumoured to be getting his own movie. and I won't also be surprised if they manage to shoehorn Batman into that one too.

Okay I see your your point but first of all, the name of the sequel is going to be World's Finest. Not Batman vs. Superman (that's just a shitty title, in my opinion).

Second, the general who gave the quote specifically said that they are NOT going to adapt the said comic. It'll just give them an idea on how the story's going to be told. In my opinion though, I think they're gonna put a little fight between the two in the first part of the movie. Then the presence of a much bigger threat will require the teamwork of these two superheroes. But that's just me. Hihi.

As for the Snyder/Goyer team-up, I have my full support for them. Goyer is an excellent writer and Snyder is a huge DC fan. And with Christopher Nolan still executive producing this movie, I am certain that they'd be able to pull this off. Just like what they did with Man of Steel.

then you have your shitty title. during an interview at SDCC, the two titles Snyder brought up was Batman vs. Superman or Superman vs. Batman. there's no mention of World's Finest. absolutely none. and now there are reports that it's likely to be Batman vs. Superman, which makes sense financially since Batman is DC's cash cow, so they put his name first even though it's a Man of Steel sequel. it's stupid as hell though, yes.

    >an idea of how the story is going to be told

that's what I said. they're going to use it as a reference. and with the title as is, its pretty much a given what comes next. lol it's actually going to be funny seeing Batman beat Superman on screen now that I think about it.

and the Snyder/Goyer fusion hasn't exactly been great. Man of Steel was underwhelming. I enjoyed it, but when you switch your brain on, it's not a very good Superman movie. it was a fun popcorn movie that would earn a Michael Bay nod of approval, but as a Superman movie, it was bad. Snyder and Goyer's Superman is a broody, maelstrom of destruction instead of being a symbol of hope and inspiration that he's supposed to be.

and Nolan's not steering this ship. this is Snyder's movie. people over value Nolan's executive producer role.
