It’s no contest if you say Intel wins over AMD on the processor level. At least, Intel wins on a populist level. But after the release of Haswell processors in Computex, AMD fights back with the world’s first-ever 5GHz processor.
At E3, AMD gives everyone more reason why they are the best choice for gamers. Unveiling their new procie based on the 8-core “Piledriver” architecture in the Gamer’s Mecca of Expos; AMD reveals two of their latest, the 5GHz FX-9590 and the 4.7 GHz FX-9370. Both are unlocked for easy overclocking and this would give enthusiasts enjoyable CPU speed and higher performance output.
The normal output of processors these days are around 3.5 to 4.0; achieving 4.7 to 5GHz are for pro overclockers and world-record breakers; 5 and 4.7GHz from AMD is huge jump for the benchmark of clock speed; most probably this will eat up alot of electricity. So, if you have no overclocking skills what so ever, we would probably think that these procies will be suitable for you. But better wait for people to try it out first to see if the 5GHz clock speed will be stable; after all this would be the first time to see a 5GHz processor.
Availability would be around the summer time in US, which is about June to August in our country. While no price is still announced, we look forward that this would be lower than Intel’s high-end processors.
