    Default power supply advice?


    how important is power supply ,,,,,does adding new ram or hard disc means addtional workload or requirement or higher psu?? novice

    believe it or not the PSU is one of the more important parts in a computer. i overlook PSU back then (P3 era), when power consumption was not an issue. Now computer parts need a lot of power to operate. I generally have two things to look out:

    1. PSU's capacity (in Watts). 350 Watts is a standard capacity bundled in cases.

    2. PSU's power output on the 12V (in amperes). Generally anything 18A and above is good enough.

    Look for high-end PSU if you have power-hungry components.

    i always opt for a branded PSU to protect my components.
