    Default My Sumilon Island Experience

I just want to share my Sumilon Island Experience last black saturday ( I know there are some threads about sumilon island, on how to get there and how much to spend, i hope this can help you a lot)

we rented a pumpboat for P2,500, 20pax capacity. we thought mag waiting ang pumpboat, same as mactan nga mo rent ka for 2,500 and can used it for whole day. P2,500 is pick up drop off only from tan awan oslob to sumilon island. it only takes 15-20mins. trip to the island so duol ra jud, if imo hunahunaon mahal ra ang pumpboat pero mao na ila fix rate. We went to the island kato sa ilang sand bar, wa mi mo sulod sa sumilon resort jud kay mahal kaayo. In sandbar naay maningil ug entrance for only P10 for the local tourist and P50 for the foreign tourist. we bring foods and drinks kay gi briefing nami daan nga walay mapalit foods, but we never expected nga wala diay tables and chairs or a simple nipa hut para unta naay ma standbyan if mo adto, naay sa taas nga pwede ka magpasilong sa mga kahoy pero nalimaho sad ug tae. matagbaw ka pangita asa ka magpasilong ug asa dapit mo kaon, maka question hinoon ka nga para asa diay ang amo gi bayran nga entrance kung walay facilitites gi offer, bisan simple nipa hut lang wala, wala sad kabutangan sa imong mga things. Open man nila ang place for public naa unta cla gi lahi nga place for public ra sad unta nga dili maka guba sa standard sa sumilon resort, simple signage gani wala cla kabutang bisan ila lang unta gi butangan nga this way for resort guest or non resort guest until this are only pero naay security mag bantay, pero wa nay mahimo ang security if maka ali sa dan ang mga tao kay wa naman lain ka standbyan.
in fairness nice sad ila sandbar but not as what i expected nga nice white beach, same as camotes or bantayan nga nice kaayo ang sand as in pino jud. for me, sumilon island is not so impressive if compare lang sa uban mga island nga ako naadtohan ha, this is my own opinion lang.
Happy Easter Everyone

10 pesos entrance is for the environmental fee my dear. It's not for the comforts one expects when they get there. Nindut iadto ug sumilon kanang dili summer kai ang sand mu shift sa public side. The comforts one expects when they get there is all hogged by the expensive beach resort; might as well consider a good-pack budget when you get there.

My sumilon island experience is mediocre but above-average ok, especially I was there for research purposes (a paper on the whaleshark watching activity in Tan-awan) If I wish to go back, I would love to bring friends with me. A tent and a bonfire would be nice, if I would suggest, because its a public area and people there are trying their best to lessen the impacts (trash, noise etc.) caused by the visitors.

most people says even before nga Sumilon is $$$ thingie jud.... when going there.. never expect anything... kay ma disappointed or ma frustrated ra jud ka... bring extra and i mean extra extra cash ky these are run by people who are more after on getting your money's worth rather than the pleasure of their would be visitors (locals and tourists).

sad state of most tourism nowadays.. yeah they're advertising to visit the Philippines... but internally... its still those douche bags, e.g. pumpboat /resort owners.. who would MILK you out of your own cash... to them.. visiting their place.. YOU ARE just $$$$$ added already to their ever growing accounts!

P10 environmental fee? how come baho ug tae sa area nga ila gi provide for the public, the area they refer nga maka pasilong ang mga tao and the people can stay para maka kaon . wa sad ko ga expect that they can provide the facilities i wanted in my imagination, at least lang bah, they have basic neccesities, like bahay kubo lang unta or any shade nga maka stanby ang mga tao. mostly sa ni adto didto kay ni likramo jud kay walay lugar mapasilongan ug maka pahuwayan. and lastly a P2500 rate for boat rental for just a 15min ride and pick up drop off is not reasonable. daghan naman sad ko nasuroyan mga other places and islands thats why maka compare jud ko. In a way nalingaw man sad ko sa sumilon... hehehehhehehe
