Thread: PSP color

    Default PSP color

I like the white version kay murag IPOD though dali lang mahugaw.
Ang pink kay dark ra pud kaayo... mas nice ang pink sa Nintendo DS.
    Blue... still too dark.
    Silver.... murag white kung makalitan.
    Black.... klaro ang fingerprints.
    Gold..... murag pang old

These are based on my own experience. Feel free to comment and give feedbacks and give your own experience to add it here. These are arranged in chronological order:

    BLACK PSP Era

    - this is the first and original PSP.

    WHITE PSP Era

    - has elevated buttons for easier controls and more comfortable. This is carried over on newer PSPs.

    - has better quality LCD. They are now using SHARP LCDs. These does not mean the picture quality is better but lesser dead/stuck pixels are lesser since SHARP has a zero dead pixel policy.

    - has improved the UMD Drive latch.

    PINK PSP Era

    - has slightly better buttons. Personally, I can't find a way to describe it but I feel more comfortable pressing Pink PSP buttons than my previous White PSP.

    - The circle that surrounds the Analog stick is bigger. I'm not sure why $ony did this but it is alot bigger compared to Black and White PSPs. This is carried out on newer PSPs.

    SILVER PSP Era

    - Wifi overheat is fixed! I've tried adhoc in Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection on Silver and Pink PSPs. In just a few minutes, Pink PSP is warmer (on the wifi part) but Silver PSP temperature stays the same. This is carried out on newer PSPs.

    - Diagonal Pad is fixed! I can now easily perform special moves on 2D fighting games like Street Fighter. To confirm this, I've played Guilty Gear X2 on both Pink PSP and Silver PSP and turned off the EASY MODE off. I can easily perform the D-pad motion (Forward, Down, Back, Forward) + Square on Silver PSP while it failed alot in Pink PSP.

    - ADDED No Fingerprints! Compared to all other PSP colors (Black, White, Pink, Blue) it does not leave fingerprints. So you don't have to wipe it after use. The difference is that Silver PSP is coated unlike other PSP w/c is not coated and fingerprints would leave mark on glass.

    - The rim (the part in PSP where Wifi switch, Power switch, and mini-USB socket is located) is darker. I find it aesthetically cool (personal preference).

    BLUE PSP

    - While Silver PSP does not leave fingerprints, Blue PSP is back from getting fingerprints again since it is Metallic.

Another Note: Features stated here are the features that have been made when the PSP was just new (e.g. Black). Some users states that newer PSPs now shares the same features of new PSPs (elevated buttons, vivid screens, fixed d-pad problems, etc...)

    GOLD PSP

    - As for Gold for PSP I leave it your experience coz I don't have one yet....

Colored PSP's has better LCD's coz they use SHARP brand LCD's which have zero dead pixels policy. You would notice now the difference between the the classic PSP's and the Colored PSP's, compare it yourself to experience.

Buy&Sell bro, akoa old PSP baligya nako then palit new, Currently I'm using PSP (Blue) and I have tried some of those colored PSP's from my friends, for comparison. As for Faceplates, daghan available color like Lamborghini Yellow, Chrome Red, Chrome Gold, Chrome Blue and Chrome Silver which I purchased, chrome faceplate are magnet to fingerprints, nice tan-awon hasol lang cge trapo. About Camy Faceplates duha ra available nila na design: Trival and Dragon, duha ra pud ang available na color sa print: Silver and Gold as of this moment.

have personally experience the whole fingerprint problem and it can be quite an effort to keep it fingerprint free.
OT: so i decided to get a silicon case with unbreakable screen for it. capdase from SM. very cheap only 580. very thin and easy on the grip. with this i experience no more fingerprint problem anymore because of the silicon cover. presently my psp is black and happy with it.

but regarding the psp color i personally go for white. looks very clean and neat.

@trazer: wow. is this your personal review from the different colors or the psp? very nice and may come useful to newbies to come. but bitaw? the colored psps has a "no dead pixel policy"? i already have 2 dead pixels on the lower left of my psp. is it possible na bah to change the LCD? to maybe to one of those "no dead pixel policy" ones? guol jd ko sa dead pixel..

Changing LCD is of course possible but as of this moment it is very expensive and not practical for the reason of few dead pixel. But if you really to have a better LCD, ibaligya nalang ang old PSP and buy new, one of those colored series PSP that uses SHARP brand LCD's with no dead pixel policy.
