Were both disks connected when you installed XP on both drives? If yes, then possible nga ang boot files are on 1 disk lang. Try physically disconnecting one drive when installing OS, then disconnecting the other when installing OS on that drive. Good luck!

pwede ra man ni bro... naa kay current nga winxp installed sa imong ide harddisk, then install nimo ang imong harddisk nga bag-o... then install nasad kag bag-ong os sa bag-ong os... gamit naka sa boot install. dili sa imong daan nga windows (upgrade install)... make sure lang sa bios, kay naka set to ide imong sata nga harddisk. inig human nimo ug install ana, you will be prompted sa startup kung asa ka nga OS gusto mosulod.

bro, kung imo gusto na lainlain jud then install your OS while disabling the other drive. the reason behind is if dili idisable ang isa then ang boot loader file nimo mabilin sa usa ka drive therefore kung ang imo iactivate kay ang naay boot loader then no problem pero kung imo idisable ang naay boot loader then dili jud nimo magamit ang duha ka drive. so kung imo iinstall ang drives by disabling it on the bois therefore duha ka boot loader file ang mahimo so that you can still boot while disabling the other one sa bios.
i hope i was able to unsderstand your problem right...
