When the Levee's "Floodwalls" broke....that was it!Â* Â*The Big Easy is now uninhabitable; & it'll take years to re-build & people are given mandatory orders to evacuate the city. Because of this disaster our Gas per galon is now $3.79 Regular....or more.Â*Â*

if they were storm victims themselves, they would've been the first one to know what it was like to suffer such a calamity. but it seems one disaster is not enough for them, they had to make their own and victimize fellow storm victims. i could not understand that at all.

^mao na'y gitawag ug 'opurtunista', taking advantage of the situation.

it seems that relief is coming in slowly. and some people are raising the class and race factors as the reason, as we can see from tv footages that most of the victims are blacks and poor who are left behind because they don't have vehicles to use for evacuation before katrina hit. pagkahuman ug interview sa usa ka black congresswoman critizing the government's slow response, gipakita pud dayon ang mga footages sa mga puti nga nagkagidlay pud tawn. but nothing stopped Kanye West from venting his frustrations saying, Bush doesn't care about the black people! pretty strong words that prompted a tv network to issue a disclaimer. tsk, tsk init na kaayo'g ulo mga tawo didto.

Oh, by the way, Katrina means "pure" and the day Katrina hit the US-- August 29, 2005 --is the Feast of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist.

Also, the third day after Katrina hit-- August 31, 2005 --would have been the day of the annual Southern Decadence Festival or the "Gay Mardi Gras". This event, which began in 1972, is described as "an opportunity for gays and lesbians to celebrate their unique lives and lifestyles."

This year would have been the 33rd year of the event. Do the math.

Wala gud, interesting trivia lang ba.

    Shalom.
