I have a Yamaha DTR 200cc with a broken engine, and at first I planned to replace the entire Internal combustion engine so I can use it again. But after discovering electric motorcycles on the Internet and its benefits, I figured that an electric motorcycle would be more interesting to build and if done correctly would require less maintenance cost in the long run ( I hope). So I've been browsing and researching all over the internet for this project and I'm just wondering if we can find the necessary parts here in Cebu?
So i wonder if there are DIY enthusiasts here that have gone through all the process of building one, and maybe they can share their expertise most especially on where to buy scrap or used parts?
for starters I'm looking for surplus electric golf cart so I can experiment with the electric motor. They're mostly cheap in Ebay, I dunno of any alternative DC motors here that i can use.
What batteries are available here in Cebu that I can use? Lead acid?
300mpg.org <--- this site is my source of information and inspiration, I'm thinking about maybe also reduce the cost considering we're the surplus capital of asia.
Should I first experiment on electric bikes instead? hehe
