when can you say you are enjoying the movie you're watching?

like tv series and movies, we always say i liked it best or this is my favorite. but when can we really say that " ohhhh,,, this movie is great" ....

when I can feel the character's emotion
example:
i can feel the fear of the character in horror movies or the excitment in an action film
