The Cherry Mobile train seems to be chugging along busily with yet another dual-SIM, dual-core Android phone release. This time it’s the 4.5-inch Cherry Mobile Thunder which retails for just P4,999 and exclusive to Lazada.com.ph for the first week starting February 9.
In the current lineup of Cherry Mobile, the Thunder is the cheaper alternative to the 4.5-inch Cherry Mobile Flame (Php6,299). Perhaps the only major difference (based on the specs that are currently available) is the lower 1 GHz dual-core processor and lower FWVGA (854 x 480) screen resolution. The Flame has a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and qHD (960 x 540) screen resolution.
Other specs are pretty standard for recent Cherry Mobile smartphones. You’ll only get 512MB RAM on this phone with 4GB internal storage plus microSD support for expandable storage. A 5-megapixel main camera mans the rear of the phone while a VGA one is up front. It runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich and there’s no confirmation yet if they’re doing a Jelly Bean update to it.
Perhaps the most attractive feature for the Thunder would be its Php4,999 price. If the 4.5-inch screen is the sweet screen size for you and you’re only using it as a casual smartphone (more on social networks than gaming and videos), it will be very difficult to ignore the Cherry Mobile Thunder and its price.

Cherry Mobile Burst is most likely the enhanced version of CM:Flare.
