Noy & Nang VS Migo & Miga

When I came back to Cebu, I noticed that people use the word "miga" or "migo" instead of "noy" or "nang" the way they used to before. What happened? What's up with the change? Does it mean anything?

Now I feel awkward when I call the taxi driver "noy" pero I also feel like calling him "migo" is too familiar kay di baya mi friends.

A fictional character calls people he meets "neighbor". When asked why he did that, he said that he didn't call people "friend" because he wasn't sure that they were his friends but he was pretty sure that everyone was a neighbor. Wala lang. Pang insert.

Depende man siguro sa tao brad. Murag more on pag tahod man sa tao nga imu kaistorya ron. I wouldn't call an elderly "migo". I would call him "tay" or "manoy". Mag brad ko sa mga tao nga dili elderly. Uban mga youngsters or batan.on ron kay mag "kuya" ug "ate" man gani as a sign of respect sa people nga dili nila kaila and older nila.

Ahhh ... so sign nalang jud na sa changing times. So ate na diay atong tawag sa mga tindera ron. Sige musunod nakos uso. Hehehehe.
