    Default Rainerius' Civic EG9 Restoration

I think this is worth sharing to the community para daghan nata mangunay og kuting2x sa awto. I got this car from my sister and brother in law, they are not interested anymore. I am fond of Civics jud since before, pag open nako sa hood it has an Integra B16a engine in very good condition.

    This is the car:
** Very nice black themed interior

** Old school power plant, pero still sounds very nice and it still can run fast

    ** Semi stripped sa garage

    Previous Mods:
    1. 4-2-1 Header
    2. CTR Cams
    3. CTR Valve Springs
    4. Ported and Polished Head

Stripped the car already, dili nako post pics daghan kaayo...

    Plans:
    1. Full sound deadening - In progress...
    2. Engine bay cleanup and painting -On hold...
    3. New Clutch, release bearing and pressure plate (Exedy Tripuck) - DONE at Rick's Autoshop Archbishop Barracks
    4. Rust proofing undercoat

    SOUND DEADENING:
So i wanted a quieter car kay saba jud ni with the header and the 4 inch outlet muffler. I also wanted to lessen road noise and improve the quality sa sound system. I play FLACs/ALAC sa awto so I want to hear all the details. I used a material called Evo-Stick Flash Band, it is a roofing product for sealing leaks. Pero it works the same way but way cheaper (100+ per roll), 1 box of Rockford Fosgate deadener at CFG costs 3500. It is exactly the same material (Bitumen/Asphalt). It works well, I drove it over rough road and mga 80% of the noise is gone. Wala na ang lata na tingog, even the doors will sound like a "thump" ig sira and not "clank". 1 more thing, when VTEC kicks in you will notice it is more pronounced and the panels will not rattle kay ang engine is revving very high. Totally worth it.

TIP: Use a roller + heat gun para papilit sa Flash Band, palit kana for wall paper sa kwarto or make your own using a paint rooler and drill + hole saw some scrap wood.
    Pics:

** Center pillar, this is special at all the sound comes here from the transmission and exhaust. So I applied 3 layers of the deadening material.

** Close up with the deadener installed

** Finished retaping all the wires with 3M super 33, this tape will not melt due to heat or get gooey. Get this on big hardwares (Atlantic, Bionic etc). Don't bother at ACE or True Value, their sales persons don't even know there are other types of 3M Vinyl Electrical Tapes.

    HEADLIGHTS:
I was looking at the headlights and it was mis-aligned maybe ni na bangga ni. I also wanted the Amber signal lights so searched for the web for some tips. Took the headlights out para banatan.

** Prepped and ready for painting, I used a paint from Tamiya in the pic. It is PHP 200+ each at Ayala, 1 CAN sakto sa duha ka signal lights. Remmember more coats = more pronounced ang amber color = more cans.

** First 2 coats, don't worry it looks yellowish it is normal as the Tamiya paint is Translucent Orange

** Finished product, I will install it later and take pics. See the corner light sa luyo, I used it para mo match ang colors and control the number of paint coats.

TIP: A clean surface is a MUST when painting, free of dust and moisture. Ayaw nalang attempt ig abog or basa, balik jud ka liha + repaint.

    BUMPER REPAIR:
So ang bumper ani is perti nang guba-a. So many cracks, bends etc. The bumper is an original ABS plastic, dali ra ni e repair. You will need a donor ABS plastic material, in my case I used an old Logitech keyboard. Tan-awa sa luyo sa plastic if it says ABS payts na. You will need your basic Soldering Gun to do plastic welding. If you got bends or hiwi, you will need a heat gun.

    ** Cracks galore

** Using a heatgun to straighten some areas, please do not attempt diretso. Youtube / search sa web and practice og scrap plastic. Wala ko labot if ma da-ot na inyong bumper.

** Grinding the primer, masilya and paint. Important jud get to the plastic before you attempt to weld it using your Soldering Gun para sure mo bond jud.

** Cleaned bumper + Donor plastic

** Plastic welded na ang crack sa screw area. I will put Epoxy or Fiber Glass over this for additional strength. Wala pa ko ka lakaw to buy the stuff. Dili klaro mag lisod focus akong phone lol. sorry.

Ako lang ni update for more. I am doing rust and dent repair next. Palit sa ko materials.

DISCLAIMER: Wala ko labot if mada-ot or naa maguba sa inyo awto, this is just for reference.

    Thanks Istorya.net
