I was going to simply post the latest news, however these killing sprees are now so frequent that I thought maybe it would make more sense to create a thread for such incidents, then in a couple of years we can see at a glance the extent of the problem:

Sheriff's investigators combed through what one called a "horrific" crime scene Sunday after the shooting deaths of five people, three of them children, at a home outside Albuquerque, New Mexico. A well-known local pastor and four of his relatives were among the victims, according to those who knew him.
Each victim was shot multiple times, said Lt. Sid Covington of the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department, and one of the weapons used was what he described as an assault rifle. Sheriff Dan Houston said a 15-year-old boy, who "may be a family member," was charged with two counts of murder and three counts of child abuse resulting in death.

- besides, Adam Lanza did not even own the guns he used to massacre those children, sa iya mama. Even if gun control will be implemented, it would not prevent anyone from stealing guns.

The problem is that many of these recent massacres involved legitimate, licensed weapons. I think what people are clamoring for is not an outright ban, but a stricter limit on the type of weapon a civilian can own and magazine capacity.

The NRA is fighting any type of restrictions, instead blaming the video game industry and Hollywood for these killings. Their main suggestion has been that more guns would reduce the amount of violent crime, which doesn't quite add up IMO.
