it was on a post from cebu classifieds dot com and they have a kiosk for the weekend at i.t. park in the tgu building, the seller was claiming it was a korean iphone @15k, she also has korean s3's @9k butt are out of stock.
the seller might have no idea she was selling fake iphone's because she didn't look like she knew anything about iphones, she's also selling s3's which i might consider fakes for the price she offered.
anyways, we met on 12/29/12 @6pm on the ground floor of the tgu building at i.t. park and she gave me the time to check out the iphone in the lbc office.
the color of the iphone image on the box was which was white didn't match the color of the actual iphone which was black, the sticker with the info such as imei, serial number, & more that's usually attached at the back of the box looked like it was teared off, it came with fake accessories such as the charge, usb, and headset, *i didn't mind the packaging and accessories it came with for the price of 15,000php*
the iphone looked and felt real, the display looked liked it had the retina display, the ios6 looked real, even the serial number had an active support and service coverage on apple.com, *i thought, this is it!*
upon ejecting the sim card tray, a micro sim card tray pop'd out, i was surprised because it was suppposed to have the nano sim card tray, the seller told me it should not be a problem because all their iphones will work with the micro sim, when i plugged the iphone to my laptop my itunes didn't detect the iphone, imei on the iphone settings was missing, *this is where i was in doubt*
so i continued exploring the ios6 since all my apple gadgets are on ios 5.1.1, when i stumbled on the videos icon, it opened and said THERE ARE NO VIDEOS ON THE SD CARD, *this confirmed it was a fake iphone because iphones doesn't sport an sd slot, maybe the fake iphones have an sd slot on the inside, butt i still wonder how these knocked off manufacturers managed to get a hold of actual serial numbers of iphone 5's*
upon testing the iphone, i inserted my micro sim card from my 4s on the micro sim card tray and it didn't detect my simcard, *luckily this happened because i now had the excuse to cancel the deal and told her i'll just wait for her other iphones to come in tomorrow*
i had to pickup my laptop at home, i had to hurry and go straight to the globe store in ayala to have my postpaid sim switched to a nano simcard, then go to i.t. park, it was such a waste of time butt worth the hassle, thank god i managed to hold my excitement!
i feel sorry for the people over at the tgu building in i.t. park i.e. convergy's call center employees, they have no idea what they just bought! spread the word everyone :\
maybe the seller knows she's selling fake iphone 5's and maybe s3's aswell, this is not right if she does, she should inform the buyers that she's offering fake instead of korean iphone version, anyone who's reading this that know's the tgu building administration at i.t. park should make a request to pull out their booth for selling fake products to people who are unaware, i didn't tell her what i have observed because no transaction was made, also she was very aware that my itunes didn't detect her fake iphone and told her that my itunes never misses my neices' and nephews' ipad1, ipad2, ipad3, itouch3, iphone4, iphone 4s', were talking about atleast 5 digits here per transaction, madada ra cguro unta to if 3-4 digits lng per transaction
happy holidays and careful istoryans, godbless!
