I purchased an iPad with Retina display (rumorwed iPad4) 16GB wifi + 4G for my fiancee. I need to know if it can still be used even without microsim inserted. i told her to buy micro simcard from Smart but it is still out of stock. Then she want to use her iPad via wifi at the moment. Is this going to work without the simcard inserted yet?

Thanks. But I am just curious during FIRST BOOT UP of the iPad coming out of the sealed box it will require you to input APPLE ID... i dont know if it will continue to boot even without simcard when in fact this model i purchased should use simcard for 4G LTE which is different from ipad with Wifi only. In your case, your iPad comes with both wifi and 4G but is it already used or you still did input your apple ID when it arrived here in PH.

Apple ID should always be asked. It's a pre-requisite. I don't think that is a problem. You have to create an apple id or use your existing one. This will give you access to App Store, iTunes Store or even purchasing online with apple site.

All your purchaged apps in App Store will be saved in your ID. Should your device get damaged, you can still get back your purchased apps thru you Apple ID account.

    Also for security purposes!

Got my unit at iTech. If you can get it cheaper from a non-Apple reseller, go for it. Naa ra bitaw warranty gihapon.

I've yet to do a side by side comparison with my girlfriend's iPad 3, but based on reviews, there isn't much of a difference in real world use between the two. Aside from the lightning port, both devices look identical.

Huwat nalang ko sa official camera connection kit for lightning ports.
