Jeepney rerouting in Mandaue

EXPECT heavy traffic and days of confusion ahead when driving or commuting through Mandaue’s streets.

A major rerouting of jeepney routes will be implemented as part of a 60-day trial run to decongest traffic.

The scheme is based on a City Council resolution sponsored by Councilor Elstone Dabon which was approved last November 9.

According to Jerome Ursal of the Traffic Enforcement Agency-Mandaue (Team), the rerouting is still temporary.

If the scheme works, the City Council will pass an ordinance to make it permanent.

Ursal said it’s natural to get complaints from motorists in the first few days. Eventually they will get used to the changes, he said.
Route guide

Jeepneys from J Centre Mall Terminal going to northern Cebu shall turn right to Albaño Street, turn right to M.L. Quezon Avenue, turn left to M.C. Briones Street to destination.

PUJs bound for Cebu city and Mandaue proper from J Centre Terminal shall turn left to Albaño street turn left to A.S. Fortuna Street to destination.

PUJs from Foodland, Country Mall and Talamban travelling A.S. Fortuna Street shall turn left to Albaño Street to J Centre Mall Terminal.

All PUJs plying the Lapu-Lapu City – Mandaue city route shall enter J Centre Mall Terminal while all tricycles coming from L. Jayme Street and ML Quezon Street shall also enter in J Centre Mall. /Correspondent Jucell Marie Cuyos

**Murag naimplement ni siya gahapon Dec. 20,2012. Ala pa ko katry sa new route kay on vacation pa ko. But I heard nga from from the usual 1-hour travel time from Consolacion>Cebu City nahimong 2 hours!

ang mga tricycle sa Maguikay ang siga na ang mga ilong! imbes nga mo sakay pa ang mga pasahero gkan sa savemore padung maguikay, gamay nlang lakawon kay mo agi na didto may channel 9 ang mga jep!

Galibog bitaw ko ana nila. Di man ta na traffic diha sa AS Fortuna. Ang traffic ra gyud diha kay kanang intersection dapit sa Matias / Kaona Grill.

Ila gyung gipaningkamotan nga mahimong landmark ang JCentre mall. Makaduda gyud.

Makasapot bitaw kaayo, sila kaha ang mag jip kada adlaw-lalim ba. kung padung ibabao mosakay na lang ta ug maguikay kay hasul ug layo ang tuyok kung mercado ang ruta-karun wa na jud choice-asa pwede magreklamo ani? way bili kung ari ra ta sige mag wayway-maayo ning naay padungan atong kaligotgot.
