TS its about time naman sad siguro nga tagalog should learn Cebuano dili kay kita lang ang sige ug adjust nila. If kita ang moadto sa manila magtinagalog ta unya ug sila moari sa CEBU kita lang gihapon moadjust para nila Better return to manila and then why dont they speak in english?

I also went Manila and I saw a lot of People eating foods recycled from the Leftovers collected from garbage bins of Jollibee.

Hi! I'm a pure Cebuano, but i recently came back from Manila after 4 years and from what i notice it's either Cebu has changed or I'm just not used to the old set-up. I've notice a lot of things on my first few weeks here and i know its really different from Manila but the things that I've observed can be improve but I don't know how to and maybe I just don't have the right ground to dictate. (I'm not giving any comparison i just want to state the facts)

A few things i noticedI'll add more soon)

PUJ Jeepneys - Cebu City's promoting tourism and it gives us a lot of benefits such more income for Cebu, but how come we can't even improve the looks of our public transport, I mean let's all admit, we can still see jeeps from 80's that are roaming around the city also there are jeeps that have holes in the floors that are sometime covered with ply board or sometimes not. And one more thing any Public Utility Vehicles have no smoking rules, and here in Cebu i observed a lot passenger doing that.

Malls, Restaurants and FoodShops - When i arrive here in Cebu i was with a few colleagues from Manila, and a series of negative events happened in just a day. we were in a certain mall in Cebu to visit a restaurant which is famous for their baby back ribs and other American inspired food. our waiter was very kind to us, while we were browsing thru their menu she even offered us drinks, but the problem started when made our order, since the people I'm are from Manila they spoke Tagalog, on the middle of the conversation between our group and the waiter, she suddenly walked out (actually ran away) without excusing herself and went to group of waiters which were standing on the reception area of the restaurant. she was asking her co-workers questions, after a few minutes she came back with another waiter, by then we realize that she was having trouble speaking Tagalog. from our part we would have understand but bearing the idea that we were talking and then she just ran away, that was weird!

Continuation of this story, after eating we went inside the mall also a very famous location in Cebu, to make the story short my friend went in one of the boutiques he was asking about the sales person something but she would just response in Cebuano, my friend ask her to kindly speak Tagalog for he cant understand our dialect but still she continued to response in Cebuano, so my friend just left the boutique.
i know some of us have difficulties in speaking certain language i admit i do, but is that a proper way of treating people, specially these people are tourist.

cebuanos are better in english than in tagalog.
that is why we have a lot of call centers here.
if they are tourist then they might as well speak in english.

i do doubt if you are a true cebuano.

you should have known cebu better.
you should have spoke in visaya or english when you ordered for food.

but the things you noticed are just small things.

sa cebu bati ang mga jeep kay wala striktoha sa ltfrb or lto ang rehistro.
dili lang jeep. hasta trucks ug tricycles. daghan gihapon diri ang dapat dili na magdagan nga trucks.

pero dili nimo imention ang rudeness sa mga taxi drivers sa manila?
dili gani sila musukli. kung plitihan P60 unya imong kwarta P100--goodluck kung suklian pa ka.
lambahan pa ka sa pultahan.
diri sa cebu suklian pa tawn kag sakto.
sure ka nakasakay na kag taxi sa manila?

@jessieventura sakto gyud ka boss! They are so proud when they say na gikan sila Manila. Cebu is way better than Manila.

I've heard stories about Cebuanos refusing to speak Filipino, insisting instead on speaking Bisaya. It hasn't happened to me the last time I was in Cebu, though I must admit it was nine years ago.

Although I can understand a little Bisaya (if you speak slowly), I certainly can't speak it. So when I went around the city alone, I have to speak in Filipino. I refused to speak in English for fear of being called bugalon. Those I spoke to would reply in Filipino also. Very friendly city, Cebu City, in my opinion.

Sipata sad nimo TS..oi kay tungod ni dagan ang usa ka waiter, imo lang daun butangan ug smiley sa imong post...unsa mana bugal2x...abi dili kaau sya fluent mo tagalog...what if she ask you, are you a pure cebuano?, then talk to you in our dialect..basin ug mag ka bunga2x sad ka ug istorya..kani ang wierd..you admit your a pure cebuano but couldnt speak fluent cebuano dialect..how weird...

ako man lagi TS...naa ko abroad..akong kauban puros tagalog..ngano man lagi, kamao paman ko mo speak ug cebuano...Istoryahe na TS..

Di-a pay lain TS...nag tuo ka nga nindot ang Manila,,adto ka ug Airport ay, sakay ka taxi, dili ka ingnan nga e Meter lang...then hangyoon paka nga Sir, Malayo kasi ung airport..but to tell duol ra diay if magka sabot namo sa presyo...hay nako...

kung mo ingon sila nga Its more fun in the Philippines..well its more fun, if you visit cebu first...
