    Default BEAUTIFUL POEMS about GOD!

    This is a poem written by Hardy Shaw after a night in a shell hole where bombs had been dropped...and is just a beautiful picture of a heart that has been penetrated with Christ.

    Lord God, I have never spoken to You,
    But now I want to say, "How do You do?"

    You see God, they told me you didnt exist
    And like a fool I believed all this.

    Last night from a shell hole I saw Your sky,
    I figured right then they had told me a lie.

    Had I taken time to see the things You made,
    I'd have known they were not calling a spade a 'spade'

    I wonder God, If You'll take my hand, Somehow I fell that
    You'll understand.

    Funny I had to come to this Hellish place
    Before I had time to see Your face

    Well, I guess there isn't much more to say,
    But Im sure glad God, I met You today.

    I guess Zero hour will soon be here,
    But I'm not afraid since I know You're near.

    The signal!...Well God, I'll have to go,
    I like You lots... I want You to know.

    Look now this will be a horrible fight,
    Who knows I may come to Your house tonight.

    Though I wasn't friendly to You before,
    I wonder God, If You'd wait at Your door?

    Look Im crying...Im shedding tears,
    I'll have to go now God, goodbye!

    Strange now since I met You Im not afraid to die.

    He Giveth More Grace
    by:Annie Johnson Flint

    He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,
    He sendeth more strength when the labors increase;
    To added affliction He addeth His mercy;
    To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.

    When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
    When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
    When we reach the end of our hoarded resources,
    Our Father’s full giving is only begun.

    Fear not that thy need shall exceed His provision,
    Our God ever yearns His resources to share;
    Lean hard on the arm everlasting, availing;
    The Father both thee and thy load will upbear.

    His love has no limit; His grace has no measure.
    His pow’r has no boundary known unto men;
    For out of His infinite riches in Jesus,
    He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again!

    The startling coalescence of contrarieties that you find in Jesus
    James Stewart

    He was the meekest and lowliest of all the sons of men: yet He said that He would come on the clouds of heaven in the glory of God.

    He was so austere that evil spirits and demons cried out in terror at His coming: yet He was so genial and winsome and approachable that the children loved to play with Him, and the little ones nestled in His arms; and His company in the innocent gaiety of a village wedding was like the sunshine. No one was ever half so kind or compassionate to sinners: yet no one ever spoke such red-hot, scorching words about sin.

    He would not break the bruised reed, and His whole life was love: yet on one occasion He demanded of the Pharisees how they expected to escape the damnation of hell.

    He was a dreamer of dreams and a seer of visions: yet for sheer stark naked realism He has all our self-styled “realists” beaten.

    He was the servant of all, washing the disciples’ feet : yet masterfully He strode into the Temple, and the hucksters and traders fell over one another in their mad rush to get away from the fire they saw blazing in His eyes.

    He saved others: yet at the last, Himself He would not save. There is nothing in history like the union of contrasts that confronts you in the Gospels. The mystery of Jesus is the mystery of a divine personality.

    I draw my strength from HIm

    i draw my strength from Him above
    closed my eyes as my prayer starts
    i begin to talk to Him like a friend
    thanking Him for the beauty I've seen
    Holy indeed is my God in the heavens
    where he live as the angels sings
    i draw my strength from him each day
    as i conquer the trials bestowed upon me
    there where moments when i am down
    trying to seek help but no one is around
    but there was Him, my God, my Creator
    who is always my Friend and my Savior....

    God's meeting place with man is in the heart,
    and in a still small voice He speaks;
    and he who hears is still.

    And when man honors man, he honors God,
    and what man does for man, he does for God.

    And you must bear in mind
    that when man harms in thought or word or deed another man,
    he does a wrong to God.

    If you would serve the God who speaks within the heart,
    just serve your near of kin, and those that are no kin,
    the stranger at your gates, the foe who seeks to do you harm;

    Assist the poor, and help the weak;
    do harm to none, and covet not what is not yours;
    Then, with your tongue the Holy One will speak;
    and he will smile behind your tears,
    will light your countenance with joy,
    and fill your hearts with peace.
