Default Gamevolution eSports League – DotA Open Commences!

After the success of the IeSF Philippine National Qualifiers, Gamevolution eSports, in cooperation with Blaque Extreme Cyber-Sports, is back to bring you another battlefield to prove your worth in competitive gaming as we formally invite you to The Gamevolution eSports League – DotA Open (GeSL – DotA Open).
With more than Php9,000 prizes to be given away, Gamers, are you ready?

What is the Gamevolution eSports League?

The GeSL – DotA Open is a 5 Saturday League for your most beloved game, Defense of the Ancients. This will be open to all DotA teams that will be on Cebu on the scheduled dates and there will be a cap of 48 teams only. The league format will cater to only 12 teams every week for 4 Saturdays to compete in, which unlike the regular Cebu based DotA events that welcomes a hefty number of participants per tournament. The 48 teams will be grouped by 12 via seed lottery and will play on a Saturday through a mini-tournament format to determine the qualifying teams for the Championship Saturday. In this way, the limited number of teams are given an equal chance to break in, challenge champions and be champions themselves. Not only does this allow teams to challenge one another but this will also allow teams to know and study one another for future iterations of the league. This will also serve as a ranking tournament for teams joining GVE leagues.

True to its vision, which is to flourish and develop E-Sports, GVE envisions the league to be an arena of camaraderie and sportsmanship promoting a healthy image for electronic gaming locally here in Cebu.

So ready weapons, fill your empty bottles and prepare your wards because war is coming. Blood of the Sentinel alliance will be spilled and the Scourge’s cries will be heard only at Blaque Extreme Cyber-Sports for the next 7 weeks!

    See you there!

    FORMAT

The 12 teams from each Main Group will be grouped into four groups of three. Each group will go through a single round robin to determine their ranking within the group. Top 1 from each group will be seeded in the main bracket (semifinals) and will be matched through a 4-team Double Elimination Format to determine the winner. Top 2 teams from each day will be seeded in the Championship bracket on the final day (Day 5) and will play through an 8-team Double Elimination Format to determine the Overall Champion.
