McLaren, for a few months back, has been hinting at plans on building a successor of the famous and an icon to all gear heads.

Now finally, these neon aerodynamic lines has been given substance.

Hmmm... though it looks sexy, I can't help but make come comments about the headlamps and how the front end curves inwards together with the side air vents. I can't help but feel that the car is actually smiling. I'm not against smiling though. But a smiling car? I don't think it does anything good to the image a hypercar should evoke. And what's with the headlamps? I get it that you want to brand your car but not with making components like headlamps appear like your brand logos. That's overkill. For chrissakes, I'm really annoyed by that bit that curves downward. I'm somewhat disappointed about the aesthetics of the car, seriously. However, I must say that I dig the roof mounted air intake. Though discreet, it shouts aggressive, Formula1 style.

Bam! Looking from the sides though. This thing looks gorgeous. And from what I can gather, it seems like this has zero drag coefficient. Well, I'm sure there is but I'm being somewhat exaggerated here just to make a point that this car is sure to be very slippery. I like the curved rear as opposed to the F1's which shoots straight out.

Seeing the rear end of the car though gives me that mixed feelings. First off, it's sexy as hell with all those curvy features and with the tail lights which is nothing more than a strip of red LED's and is integrated along the curves of the body. And that massive exhaust tip mounted up top. However, the diffuser is way overkill. And the reflectors. Darn, it kills the overall fluidity of the design.
Anyhow, despite these quirks in the design, over-all this new design concept of the successor of the F1 is certainly on the path to being one of the best hypercars in the future.
Performance-wise, no definites yet but if they deliver their claim that this would eclipse the performance of the old but still remarkable F1 and how their MP4 is doing, then count me in as one of many future believers that this car will be one of the best, IF NOT THE BEST, cars in the years to come.
