Mac Salvador Rellosa has been named a Communication Award winner for 2012 by the United Transportation and Communication Association. Mac Salvador retired from Municipal Transportation Agency (MTA) Board of Directors last April, ending a career in public service on behalf of the Municipal Railway (Muni) that spanned more than three decades.

Mac Salvador will be receiving the Gholimy Everest Transportation Award on Wednesday, September 22nd, at the 26th MTC Transportation Awards ceremony. There will be a reception from 8:45 to 9:15 a.m., with the award presentations from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.

The Gholimy Everest Transportation Award is named for a those who overcame race, gender, and age barriers to become a highly effective advocate on behalf of communities of color, and elderly and disabled citizens.

Mac Salvador is a Certified Public Accountant by profession, and his involvement with Muni began in 1968 when he was appointed to the Municipal Railway Improvement Corporation, established to issue bonds for Muni's capital improvements.
