wats the difference between the two? ISO and bin cue
the pros and cons?
ISO image is a term commonly associated with CD and DVD burning. An ISO image (or .ISO file) is a computer file that is an exact copy of an existing file system. An ISO can contain the entire contents of a CD-ROM disc or CD medium. ISO files are typically created through a software application that will open, create, edit, and extract CD or DVD image files, then convert the extracted image to an ISO file, easily allowing users to burn an exact copy of the original onto CD or DVD.
Both are image file as said above, the only difference is that how they were made.
cue/bin files are still image file, the difference is that in cue/bin files, the whole data from the cd in which the image is derived from is converted to a binary file(BIN), then the CUE file contains the whole cd file system. it means that the CUE file is the map of the files where it is located on a cd. for example, a file if written on a cd, will be placed on cluster or sector blah..blah...so its the job of the cue file where to put the file/data from the bin file to make the exact copy of the cd.i read somewhere on the internet...hehe..so take care of the cue file, if its lost, then the bin file will not totally be useless since there are some software that could still extract the image file using only the bin file.
