    Default Debit Card Issue


    Hi Istoryans!

    I just want to share what happened to me yesterday concerning my BPI debit card...

    I purchased items sa usa ka shop sa mall sa Mandaue amounting 4196.00, kay lagi for safety reasons, di ko magdala kaayo ug cash so I used my BPI debit card to pay for the items. I asked the salesman kung mudawat ba sila ug debit card and he said "yes" (nga naay pagka hestitant gamay pagkasulti). Kay gadali lagi ko, I decided to hand over my card to the cashier to begin the transaction. After swiping the card, I saw sa BDO machine nga nakabutang "communication error". The cashier told me nga "Sir, wala ni na-ibanan imo card ha, medyo naa problema amo machine" I saw nga naa resibo nigawas, I examined the receipt and he said nga "Kana Sir, mao na ang resibo sa last successful nga transaction sa kani nga machine, dili na sa imohang card".

    I told them nga "Ambi lang ako card kay mag-withdraw na lang ko cash". After balance inquiry, to my surprise, nakuhaan ug 4196.00 ako account. So dali2x ko balik sa ilaha to complain, I talked to the manager, and he said nga "Kami na lang bahala ana Sir, mabalik ra lagi nang amount sa imo account".

    Nisurot ako dugo, kay after all mao rana ila isulti nako? then dili jud nila i-release ang item. I told them nga pabuhat ko ug incident report para lang naa ko proof of transaction for that day. Then ang manager mismo nag-compose sa letter then after printing, dili man nuon siya mo-pirma sa letter. I told him, "Ngano di man ka mu-pirma bai nga IR raman ni", medyo dako na ako tingog, pero I tried to contain my anger.

    Ingon siya sige lang Sir, di bitaw ni first time nahitabo sa amoa, naa na Amerikano nga same ug case nimo, pero wa na man mi kadungog ug feedback niya...

    Holy ****! nisamot surot ako dugo, nahitabo naman diay ni sauna why man gamiton pa nila ang machine, and who knows ang Amerikano nilarga nato balik sa gawas without settling the issue, simple ra unta jud kaayo to, kung in the first place ni-ingon sila nga cash basis ra sila.

    So I left the shop with the IR and a receipt of the last successful transaction sa BDO machine nga dili akoa.

    Istoryans, I know di kaayo na dako nga amount ang 4196.00 pero hinago-an jud baya nako ng kwartaha, sakit jud pud kung matabla lang.

    Unsa ako angay buhaton ani ug unsay processo para mabalik pa ang amount sa ako account.

    I experienced same thing at PENSHOPPE AYALA... I bought a shirt there using my Credit Card and there was an Error and they also shown me the receipt of my last transaction... They said di daw maibanan sa Card nako... Then 2 days later... Nitawag ang Bank From Manila nko verifying my transactions and when Penshoppe was mentioned, i told them that my transaction failed there... So I immediately went to Penshoppe and talked to their Manager regarding my concerns... They just took my card number and account name... I also felt the same TS but be Cool lang... Mabalik ra na ang nakuha sa imu CArd... Kay when I received my Billing that time... Nawala na ang Penshopped... Ila accounting and Bank na ang magcoordinate ana... Then verify the status nlng at the Bank...

    yup, sakto c air_bender ts, kaduha nko nkasulay ani naggrocery ko sa colonade, same machine mu error den mo post sa akong credit card. pero ma credit ra man balik sa akong card after mga pila ka days. naa man sd na'y receipt ang merchant w/ ur signature so mao tngali na ilang basehan. krn, kahibaw nko ana, dli nko magpanic

    cool ra gud ts, di man ni isolated imong case, common man ni mahitabo, nya mo file raman ka ani ug dispute claim sa imong bank in case mo appear na sa imong statement of account

    thanks for the info. Question lang, same raba na ang refund process sa ATM card ug sa credit card? kay sa ko case, I'm using an ATM card. I can view my statement of account online and it really shows nga na-ibanan jud ug 4196.00.

    Any feedback is highly appreciated.

    mabalik ra bitaw na, wala pako kadungog nga wala gyud nabalik

    maybe a week baik na

    i experienced that as well sa nike shop SM and sa sm dept store. total amount was 34k. yung sa sm was 24k, wala'y prob kay asikasuhon nila. BDO akong card that time. yung sa nike ang prob. they denied the transaction. but bdo did their best to credit the money back to my account after almost 2 months kay di maki-cooperate ang nike.

    If you have checked the receipt you should have checked if the last 4 digits of your debit card if it matches the one in the receipt. If it does match your card then thats the time to be irate, if not then the manager might be correct and your balance will just be put back in your account. The only time that I know this happens is when you check in a hotel and when they get your card they swipe it for incidentals. If you check your account balance it might appear that your balance has been deducted but it will just be put back within 2 - 3 days after you check out.

    The name and the account number of the receipt belongs to a different customer, not mine. 3 days and I've never heard a word from the store manger, he asks for my mobile number anyway. Last time we talked over the phone, he said that BDO will come to their store to fix the terminal and he assured me that the amount will be put back to my account. Di nako siya gusto dali dailion coz I know that he has no control over the whole process as there's BDO involved.
