I've been following lots of console scene tidbits lately and the most anticipated of all is PDX's (shortcut I use for the real release group) release of their PS3 loader so that 'pirates' can easily load PS3 images.

As commented by a co-scene watcher:

Things we know about the loader via reliable sources that have seen it used:
It is an OtherOS that exploits a security hole in the Hyper-Visor. (thus it will be a downloadable image you use to load the OtherOS like Linux is)
It works on all ISO's released by PDX to date. No comment on ISO's released by other groups.
PDX has bricked more than one PS3 in the development of the loader.
IT IS REAL.

Things we can suspect all we want:
The reason why they haven't released it yet. (I personally believe that they want to make sure that the stock EU PS3 will either take the loader and work, or not work and leave the PS3 still functional. If the loader were released today everyone would download it and have it ready when they return home on EU release day, which could mean hundreds or even thousands of bricked PS3's if there is something seriously off with the EU version.)
If the loader will work with other groups ISO's. This has not been addressed as far as I have seen. I suspect it will, but time will tell.
Now I've seen a lot of these PS3 images being released on private torrent sites and usenet groups and it seems that the traffic to get to these PS3 images has increased.

I predict that before the summer is over, the loader will be released and many PS3-'pirate'-fanboys will finally have buy their PS3.
