Default "parish support" para asa ni?

    hello,

im not a churchgoer myself but i was irked when my mom said that the local priest is collecting P10/month/family in our area, and such collection is mandatory, with matching logbook.

i confronted the lady asking for the money and told her to show me paperworks that permits the local catholic church to do such collection. she said that its for parish support. i said that our family will not give a penny unless she can show me some paperwork. i said 10 bucks is okey, but 10 bucks x 5000 families is a different story.

since when did the church authorized such activity? i know that the church survives alone thru donation, but it seems that the Catholic church itself has some hidden agenda.

where do i report or maybe clarify if such activity is indeed allowed?

Maybe she is a fraud. the church has no authority to force collect money from the people, they only receives some donations.
you may report this situation from the nearest church in your area so the church may aware with this kind of activity.

    Only 2 things possible

    1. She could either be fraud trying to make money for herself,
    2. Or she could really be working for the church, which is also typical, trying to make MORE money.

i-verify nalang ts. kay wa ta kahibaw ang babae nangilad ra to. or if tinuod man gani nga ang parish priest nagsugo, grabe sad. di baya mandatory ang paghatag sa simbahan.

That's not possible. Catholic Church will never go on house-to-house solicitation. That's obviously a fraud. Similar to those people knocking at your doors, naa dayon "Kahiusa sa Gugma sa Ginoo Foundation" (just an example) nga sobre. Kaduda2 dyud ng inana.

naa man sa amoa sa una nga nag door to door gyud complete with the wooden box and from the parish church gyud
they didn't outwardly say its mandatory but seem like the way sila mangayo is not the way when it's ok to give or not
