Default Satellite captures stunning images of Earth

In the style of Van Gogh's painting "Starry Night," massive congregations of greenish phytoplankton swirl in the dark water around Gotland, a Swedish island in the Baltic Sea. Population explosions, or blooms, of phytoplankton, like the one shown here, occur when deep currents bring nutrients up to sunlit surface waters, fueling the growth and reproduction of these tiny plants. This is a bit out of topic, but since science is all about being FACTUAL and accurate, allow me to give this short lecture on the essence of the word "abstract".

    A) People always use the term "abstract" in the WRONG way. For example, most people, if you show this photo, they will say "Ay abstract na!"

Ok first, if you see the woman, or a guitar (mandolin), then BOOM, dili ni pwede tawagon nga abstract, because you saw something which is NOT abstract, but a CONCRETE object--a woman or the guitar.

A REAL work of abstraction does NOT signify nor represent anything REAL. Here is an example of an abstract work of art:

Take a look at both paintings now. The one above with woman and guitar is actually painted by Picasso, and is in the style called CUBISM. The one below with squares, are done by Piet Mondrian and is in the style called "De Stijl", which is a form of ABSTRACT ART.

So now I hope you understand what TRUE or REAL abstract art is.
