right click on the folder you want to share, then click on sharing and security.... then follow the network wizard.... this is just an overview... u didn't post if ur a newbie or averaged in this type of problem so we could post the appropriate answer.....Originally Posted by acronis
im about average... anyway, the only options available i can see in the sharing and security tab are the following:
* share this folder on the network.
* allow network users to change my files.
thats all, theres no option for password...
open any folder, then click on tools, folder options, click View tab, scroll down and uncheck "Use simple file sharing"...
There is a freeware for that, I have tried using it. Everytime you open a folder if it is protected it will ask for a password. I can't share the lcation here kay bawal.
@rlcrl: i dont see any "use simple file sharing" option under view tab. is it because its not available sa Win XP Home?
@dredd41v576: may i know the name of that freeware?
then try to right click on your hard drive, then select properties.... check the file system of your drive. if its not NTFS, then you can't set a folder to be password protected.
by the way.... what do u want to happen ba jud diay? when a user from the network tries to access your folder, it will prompt for a password? or when a different person sits on your computer and tries to access your folder it should prompt for a password?
@dredd41v576:
pde ngayo sadko sa link sa freeware ana?
e pm lang thanx
