Might as well share these things since its crystal clear none of us are immune to the infinite mysteries of the universe and what's out there. To start, lets take everything here with grain of salt since the purpose of this thread is for simply for fun and to fuel people's curiosity on the subject. Second, let's not shove our opinions at each other. My 'only' hope is we continue to observe/practice civility in this thread and to stimulate open-minded discussions, thoughts and belief on subject. Your guesses are as good as mine here so take everything lightly. And last, lets refrain from personal attacks and ridicule.

Moffett Federal Airfield is a joint civil-military airport located 3 miles (5 km) north of Mountain View, in Santa Clara County, California, USA. It was built in the 1930's and served as a Navy facility. It is currently operated by NASA Ames Research. Although Moffett Field was closed as a military base on July 1, 1994 Moffett Field still has many active facilities and residents. Active military families still live on Moffett Community Housing, and the former base has several lodges which primarily house academics and students associated with the Ames Research Center.

Many of the buildings at Moffett Field which once supported its active military presence have been abandoned and left standing due to asbestos contamination within the structures.

Behind the counter of an abandoned McDonalds lie 48,000 lbs of 70mm tape the only copy of extremely high-resolution images of the moon.

These tapes were recorded 40 years ago as part of the Apollo program to map the lunar surface to plan landing spots for Apollo 11 onward. They have never been seen by the public because at the time, they were classified as they reveal the extreme precision of our spy satellites. Instead, all we have ever seen are the grainy photo-of-a-photo images that were released to the public.

The spacecraft did not ship this film back to Earth. Instead, they developed the film on the Lunar Orbiter and then raster scanned the negatives with a 5 micron spot (200 lines/millimeter resolution) and beamed the data back to Earth using yet-to-be-patented-by-others lossless analog compression. Three ground stations on Earth (one was in Madrid) recorded the transmissions on these magnetic tapes. Recovering the data has proven to be very difficult, requiring technological archeology. The only working version of the Ampex tape player ($300K when new) was discovered in a chicken coop and restored with the help of the original designer. There is only one person on Earth who still refurbishes these tape heads, and he is retiring this year.

The skills to read this data archive are on the cusp of disappearing forever.Some of the applications of this project, beyond accessing the best images of the moon ever taken, are to look for new landing sites for the new Google Lunar X-Prize robo-landers, and to compare the new craters on the moon today to 40 years ago, a measure of micrometeorite flux and risk to future lunar operations.

The Shard and The Spire.

The Shard is an obvious structure which rises above the Moon's surface by more than a mile. Its overall irregular spindly shape (containing a regular geometric pattern) with constricted nodes and swollen internodes, if natural, has got to be a wonder of the Universe.

No known natural process can explain such a structure. Computer enhancement with about 190 feet (60 meters) resolution shows an irregular outline with more reflective and less reflective surfaces. The amount of sunlight reflecting from parts of the Shard indicate a composition inconsistent with that of most natural substances. Only crystal facets and glass can reflect that much light (polished metallic surfaces are unnatural). Single crystals the size of city blocks are currently unknown. I concur with Hoagland that the Shard may be a highly eroded remnant of some sort of artificial structure made of glass-like material. Other larger structures and their reflectivity in the area support this theory.

NASA explains moving 'boulder'.

This is within the crater Vitello, and demonstrates the small role that such processes, called gravity wasting, have on the lunar surface. The main source of surface modification on the Moon is meteorite and micro meteorite bombardment. North is up.

Criticism to NASA explanation

Alien Machine Caught On Moon In 1967.On August 17, 1967, satellite Orbiter 5 took the following image of the moon. It shows an object that has left a definite “track” in the lunar surface. NASA said it was a rock that rolled downhill and left the track in the lunar surface. But there are some serious flaws with that explanation.

1) Looking at the “track” it left behind, the object is the same width as the track. Rolling rocks leave imprints that are narrower than their width. If it was something rolling, it must have had a cylindrical shape rather than a ball.

2) If you look at the “track”, the object went straight through a depressed part of the terrain without altering course or simply getting stuck in the depression. Then it went uphill out of the depression and continued in a smooth, undisrupted path.

3) How does a rolling rock leave such a complex pattern seen in its “track”? If it was a rock that's round enough to roll that distance, then what kind of “tread pattern” could a rock possibly have to leave such a pronounced “track” that is the same width as the rock itself?

You're on the roll. I'll post something later to confirm that. I think that base was where the U2 spyplane was developed. But what do you think about the last set of pictures? They're pretty strange.

That's an interesting concept and it does cross my mind sometimes. BUT what if it's the other way around? What if our ancestors were recording their interactions with beings so advanced they thought they were seeing supernatural powers?

Or maybe there's just not one kind of 'alien' out there. What if some do actually have what we might consider supernatural qualities, like inter-dimensional travel, invisibility, morphing, mindcontrol etc.? What do think?
