Default N73 Owners...post tips and woes

ive had my N73 since last year and i love and hate it at the same time...
love the features and what it can do that my other phones cant do...
hate the bugs and slower than stellar performance...

lets dedicate this thread in sharing our woes and tips (discoveries).

let me start with things i find brilliant about it
1)photo slideshow with ken's burn effects and mp3 music...take that iphoto hahaha!
2)for a phone, above average photos
3)RM video playback rocks! tnx helix!!
4)voice recognition is excellent...all 3,000 people in my phonebook i can call by just calling out their names...
5)Live TV on my fingertips hehehe

    Tips:
    1) prepare a set slideshow by creating albums...
    2) for best night/lowlight portrait and minimize purple cast. use user define mode. set nightmode. sensitivity low. flash on.
    3) load as little additional software as possible...
    4) use RM not 3gp/mp4 for best quality i use helix to create them. best to use vcd (not wide screen) to convert from so it plays completely full screen. widescreen movies makes the movie look small and less quality on the 2.4" lcd.
    5) i rotate portrait pics (vertical pics) counter clockwise (i connect the phone to pc via usb and set it to mass storage mode to rotate photos faster in explorer), that way its displayed full screen during playback and better display during slideshow mode

    problems i havent solved...
1)how do you delete all the albums at once? has anyone figured out were the album data is located? is there any faster way to set the albums hehehe been doing it in phone mark one by one. sana meron interface from phone to pc to tag pics for specific albums.
2)is there a way for the camera settings to stay as is after camera mode is turned off. i like using user define settings but everytime i turn the camera on, its back to full auto setting
3)is there a way to separate photos and videos in galleries...let either only videos be viewed or just the photos?
and does anyone have a solution to hide certain photos/video from appearing in galleries.

could you guyz also share what programs you installed in your N73.
ako, currency converter and led on (flashlight) apps lang.

your taking pictures with less than ideal lighting conditions...even a true blue p&s digital camera will have problems getting good shots of that the way you are using it. as superspeed would say, its the indian not the pana...

backlighted kaayo ka/harsh light cast on one area of the photo.
1st photo too much contrast on dark and bright areas. it tries not to overexpose the bright parts as it tries to keep the shaded parts from getting too underexposed. its doing its job pretty well considering the size of its sensor...

change the setting. follow the tip #2 i posted here...works great in lowlight and bright light

below are some photos i took 5mins ago for your benifit...
all photos are unedited. only resized for posting here.
colors and quality aint bad at all using the setting i posted

So true, gamay pa lang gyud apps for N73 (errr... for the whole version3 range of phones, that is)..

Essential apps i do consider for my Nok-Nok are as follows:
    1. FExplorer signed (by me! hehe)
    2. photorite viewer, although the gallery ain't that bad... it's not as slow as the n70, in fact i'm impressed with its normal speed
    3. auto hang up since i don't want to pay for those extra 2 seconds (who wants to anyway??)
    4. answering machine for those calls i don't want to pick up... (take that, stalkers!)
    5. N-torch (very handy)
    6. Alarm manager (up to 8 alarms) - because i have short-term memory.
    7. Taskman - very very important to keep the RAM at bay, and to close MUSIC which refuses to get killed.
    8. auto keylock - since i always forget to do that
    9. woman (menstral) - because i am.
    10. FS caller - i like to look at people's pictures in FULL mode when they call
    11. screenshot - for posting on the web
    12. This chinese virus scan, JiangMin... (which does not expire)...
    13. a medical dictionary, as well as the regular one with a thesaurus.. ^_^ - very handy in my profession
    14. Message Storer - to export SMS, etc. to txt or CSV file
    15. Slide screen saver
    16. and this copier-scanner-fax i still have yet to tinker with.
    17. MSN Messenger
oh and all those that came in with phone, i.e. 3d tones, flash player, RM, my ringtone mp3, lifeblog, quickoffice, adobe, etc.

-- with all that, my n73 runs like the wind.. haha in other words, it's rather fast

    My wishlist:
    1. a program that customizes message tones per contact
    2. to figure out this barcode reader thing
    3. sms scheduler
    4. that appilcation i used to have with the n70 that was like a start menu kinda thing

    Current woes (so far):
I want to change the faceplate! and how do i get rid of this delay whenever I'm composing messages or editing a contact name It's like whenever i first begin to reply a text message, there is always a delay in composing the first 5 or so letters!!! I did install that sms accelerator provided by Nokia but I don't know what THAT does really... I'm begining to think my keypad is defective.. then again, it works okay for the rest of the 160 characters that I punch in... Hmmm... well, any ideas?

Nevertheless, I'm so loving my current font:

coming from a samsung d900, this phone is just way too slow and there is no sign of it improving. updating its firmware is useless(have used vanilla, IE and ME firmwares). this POS is going to fleabay, unless someone here has some kind of fix?

    u mean this line?

i never really noticed it til now, and since it's not bothering me, i guess it shouldn't be a problem and it doesn't show with the rest of my themes

the line is part of the theme, to separate the status bar from the menu list/icons.
but i dont see any distortion here...
