    Default Are AVR's output AC?

Are all AVR's output AC? I have a 10 year old unknown brand AVR here. I would like to test its output voltage with a multimeter. Being a noob in this, I don't want to burn the fuse box or myself. Thanks.

    yes,,, AVR outputs are AC..

The result of my 10 yr old (relay) AVR output test was 238V. Bad AVR, bad.

Then I tested the main socket, it was 238 to 242V. Yaiks! Bad Veco, bad.

I also tested my servo type AVR Nippo, the output was 224. Good servo type, good.

Mao jud bitaw recommended jud ang Servo type nga AVR kay nindot kaayo ang hatag sa electricity.

I wonder if all Servo type AVR's work like a step down transformer?

you mean servo type step down transformer? naa kasagara gamit sa high end audio power amplifier...

Regular cheap AVRs don't really regular voltage. yes use Servo type AVRs instead, or get a decent UPS.

I mean when the voltage goes high (or low), the output stays the same at 220v. My servo type did that by staying at 220v while the main is at 240v. But when the electric fluctuates, its output voltmeter moves also. Kinda defeats the "AVR" purpose.

solid state device will do the trick... not the servo itself... dili kaseguruhan kong unsa kapaspas moreact imo servo type AVR sa sudden collapse and rise sa voltahe...

scenario ana kay naay gawelding, once ni down ang voltahe lets say 190V, so the AVR will step up the voltage so magdugang siya ug 30V para lang masatisfy ang 220V, now ug nikalit saka ang voltahe lets say 240V ug dili abtik imo AVR ang voltahe ana naka plus 30V resulta 270V na nasulod ba kaha na sa spec sa PSU, either gub-on imo PSU or any part sa system....mao lang na ako mashare...

your PSU is more reliable than the AVR, branded PSU can accept voltage as high as ~264V this will be converted to an steady DC output voltage regulated by solid state devices,
check the label of your PSU rating sa input voltage...

much better to use UPS and surge protector,

akong PC wala gagamit ug AVR it is direct to wall, magwelding man ko diri sa balay walay kaba ako PC sa fluctuation sa voltahe/kurente, kay I know my PSU can handle from 100-240V~ +/-10% tolerance or 90-264V~
