need help in upgrading my processor

need ko help upgrading my processor, my mobo is asus p5gc-mx series, with dual core e2160 proce, planning to upgrade it, I want to ask you guys what should i upgrade dual core or core 2 dou? As I look into the compatibility of my mobo in asus website, all dual core and core 2 dou proce are there, but once I check the compatiblity of the proce to my mobo, some are not compatible

Ex: my mobo's chipset is Intel® 945GC(A2) / ICH7 and I am planning to buy dual core e5300, so e5300 are in the list of my mobo compatible proce but in e5300 website there is no Intel® 945GC(A2) / ICH7 listed, I am really confused on what to buy in upgrading my processor.

I need your advices.

that's a socket 775 motherboard. No more brand new processor available for your upgrade. Better yet, buy a new set (cpu, mobo, memory). Socket 1155 nata tanan karon

just a friendly advice, the best thing that you have to do is to sell this three(3) major parts of your rig(mobo,cpu & ram as suggested by sir crasHBURN) just retain your hdd, casing & power supply then buy a second hand 1155 socket mobo/cpu & ddr3 ram.

I think Z77 is too much for him. Any H61 motherboard, G620 processor and a 4GB DDR3 would work.
