Default ZOTAC GTX 670 TwinCooler Pictured

NVIDIA not only disturbed the performance-thru-extreme GPU segments of AMD with the GeForce GTX 670, but also rub salt on its wounds with an insultingly simple yet efficient compact PCB design of its reference design board. One of its bigger board partners, ZOTAC, is ready with a custom-design graphics card that keeps in tune with this design principle, the GTX 670 TwinCooler.
Pictured above, the ZOTAC GTX 670 TwinCooler (model no. ZTGTX670-2GD5TCR001/ZT-60305-10P) is really short - about 60 mm shorter than NVIDIA reference design. The cooling assembly is ZOTAC's in-house design. The cooler uses two dense aluminum fin stacks, to which heat is conveyed by copper heat pipes that make direct contact with the GPU. The two are ventilated by an 80 mm fan, each. The cooler makes the card a tiny bit thicker than what two expansion slots allow, although it shouldn't eat up the third expansion slot.
The ZOTAC GTX 670 TwinCooler, despite its compact size, packs factory-overclocked speeds. Its core (base) is clocked at 954 MHz (vs. 915 MHz reference), with a GPU Boost frequency of 1033 MHz (vs. 980 MHz reference), and surprisingly, a memory speed of 6208 MHz (vs. 6008 MHz reference, a frequency most manufacturers don't tinker with). The card packs 2 GB of GDDR5 memory across a 256-bit wide memory interface. The 28 nm GK104 silicon is configured to have 1344 CUDA cores, 112 TMUs, and 32 ROPs. The card draws power from two 6-pin PCIe power connectors. It supports 3-way SLI. Display outputs include two DVI, and one each of HDMI and DisplayPort connectors. ZOTAC plans to launch the card worldwide, on the 20th of June. Prices vary greatly by market.Source: Hermitage Akihabara
