This album is beautiful.
I must commend them. "LightPeaceLove", a very ambitious album, has to be one of the better albums by a pinoy artist that I've heard in a long time. It isn't a conventional rock album. This time around they've chosen a more smoother sound. Great lounge music.
I personally prefer "Dinner at 6", "Much Has Been Said...", "Alpha Beta Omega", and "Children of the Sun". The album also carries the single "Hallelujah". The mediocre tracks are located in the early parts of the album (namely "I-You", "F.U."), but the rest of the tracks are great.
What I really like about Bamboo's lyrics is the way he portrays it through positivity. Although he mumbles or somewhat "raps" in some of the songs, he still has that soaring vocal. He is indeed one of the few singers/songwriters in the Filipino rock scene with genuine talent.
Vic Mercado is an incredible drummer. He has total control of his off-beat antics. Although he tends to overdo his technique sometimes, it doesn't really go to the extent that it affects the song. In fact, his drumming spices up any song that could have been dull. Truly his drumming is where the band gets its edge.
Both Ira and Azarcon work nicely here.. although I feel the bass needs more volume in some songs. Also, the guitar seems to be drowned by the backing instruments (sax, keys) in some songs. But nonetheless, they've kept their playing laid back throughout the course of the album- believing in "less is more", and I think they pulled it off nicely.
The backing instruments/singers greatly contribute to the feel of the album. Nicely done indeed. I personally love the backing choir in the song "Alpha Beta Omega".
